Spider-Man 2
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man returns in the sequel to the
record-breaking blockbuster Spider-Man series, based on the classic Marvel
Comics' flagship character. Tobey Maguire returns as the mild-mannered Peter
Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as a college
student and a superhuman crime fighter. The adventure escalates and Spider-Man's
life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the
brilliant Otto Octavius, (Alfred Molina) who has been reincarnated as the
maniacal and multi-tentacled Doc Ock. This is exponentially better than the
first Spider-Man, as it turns up everything that fans liked about the first film
and introduces a lot of new things to enjoy.

KISS/Poison Rock The Nation
Somerset Wisconsin
Can it get any better than what KISS fans experienced in beautiful Somerset
Wisconsin? The temperature was in the 50's so it was chilly, but there was some
serious heat coming off the stage. The guys opened with Love gun, and from there
went into Deuce. It was great hearing all the seldom played jems from the KISS
catalog, Love Her All I Can, Making Love, War Machine, Parasite, they were all
there, in all their glory. Hottest Band in the World, no doubt. Largest Army in
the World, you better believe it! KISS, Somerset WI by far was the best of the
bands concerts I have ever been to. If you get a chance, you got to see this
tour. The guys are taking it up a notch. Eric and Tommy were great, and seem to
be having a blast, as were Gene and Paul. Kiss always sets the bar so high, yet,
they always seem to top themselves, by no means an easy task.
The Buzz...
McG is
off the Superman project, again. This comes just a few days after it was
revealed that producing honcho Neal Moritz (The Fast and the
Furious, S.W.A.T.) was brought on board by Warner Bros. to oversee the project.
The Project Voices site says that McG was fired after failing to go with a
location scout to Australia, where WB is keen on getting the film made.
Ben Ramsey (The Big Hit) has a deal with 20th Century Fox to pen
the Dragonball Z movie. The film will be based on the popular
Japanese anime television series. The movie follows the adventures of an adult
humanoid alien who's just discovered that he was sent to Earth to blend in and
destroy our population but instead elects to protect it from an oncoming alien
onslaught.
Johnny Depp will lend his voice talents as the lead in Burton's
new stop-motion animation movie, The Corpse Bride.
Scott Speedman (Underworld) and Nona Gaye (The Matrix Reloaded) are joining the
cast of xXx: State of the Union, which stars Ice Cube and
Samuel L. Jackson. The second movie in the xXx series starts shooting
mid-July. Ice Cube plays a criminal recruited by NSA to join the xXx program.
Jim Abrahams and Pat Proft, who wrote and produced the Naked Gun
movies, is setting up a spoof at Universal titled Balls of Courage.

Paris Hilton will be starring in the independent comedy
National Lampoon's Pledge This! Hilton will play the president of an elite
sorority at South Beach U. where she will preside over a group of unlikely
freshmen trying to gain entrance into the sorority.
MGM has hired Mark Famiglietti and Lane Garrison to write the screenplay for
the horror/comedy Succubus, based on an idea by Daredevil director Mark
Steven Johnson. The film is based on the legend of a cult of female demons,
called succubae, who use their supermodel looks to seduce and steal men's souls
to rule the planet.
Sony/Columbia Pictures is working on a biopic based on the life of author
Jane Austen, who wrote such classics as Pride and Prejudice and Sense
and Sensibility.
Quentin Tarantino is taking an interesting paycut. The trade
reports that the Kill Bill director is receiving only $1 for his work on Robert
Rodriguez' Sin City. But it's all in good fun: Rodriguez only got $1 for doing
the score for Kill Bill, Vol. 2. Sin City, which will be released by Dimension
Films, has an all-star cast telling several different stories that intertwine.
Scarlett Johansson is set to join the cast of Woody
Allen's next movie. She replaces Kate Winslet, who dropped out
due to spend more time with her family.
Spike TV is stepping into the ring with Ultimate Fighting
Championship for a series about the martial arts sport. The male-oriented
cable network has ordered 13 hour-long episodes of Ultimate Fighter to begin
airing in January.
Principal photography on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the
fourth feature based on J.K. Rowling's magical mystery series, is now underway.
