Terminator Salvation
In 2018, after the world has been all but destroyed by a nuclear holocaust, the
human resistance faces off against Skynet, a networked artificial intelligence
bent on destroying what remains of humanity. Predestined resistance leader John
Connor (Christian Bale) is having a hard time rising through the
ranks, as his deep knowledge of Skynet makes other resistance members
suspicious. Joining up with a mysterious stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam
Worthington), Connor must venture deep into enemy territory in order to
claim his destiny.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop
With a heart that won't quit, a stomach that won't stop gurgling and a self
sworn oath to protect his turf, Kevin James stars as a single
suburban dad trying to make ends meet as a security officer at a New Jersey
mall. It's a job he takes very seriously, though no one else does. But when a
team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages, Jersey's most formidable mall
cop, untrained, unarmed and a super size target, will have to become a real cop
to save the day.
The Buzz..
Gossip
Girl star Chace Crawford has a busy summer of work ahead of
him, as he's reportedly just landed the lead role of Ren McCormack in
Paramount's Footloose remake.
With Ugly Betty's ratings down 15% in Season 3, producers want to
bring back the focus to America Ferrera's title character and tone
down the outrageousness. But some fans are already grumbling.
TNT will use Buckcherry's cover of the Deep Purple
classic Highway Star as the theme song for their coverage of
NASCAR's 2009 Sprint Cup Series. The song will appear in the network's
coverage of six races, as well as in the series marketing campaign. TNT has also
produced a music video for the song that will debut today at NASCAR.com as well
as during TNT's post game show for game one of the NBA's Eastern Conference
finals.
Kid Rock is hard at work on a new CD which he'd like to release in
November, but meanwhile, we can all look forward to the release of his new beer.
Kid hopes to have his new brew, called Bad Ass Beer, available by Labor
Day. He says the commercials for his beer will make fun of other beer company's
ads, including Budweiser, Corona and St. Pauli girl. Kid
Rock also points out that his beer is creating jobs in this tough economy. "It's
made in Michigan, made in America, and we're getting everything we can, like the
barley and the hops in the States...we know people are hurting here, so we're
trying to take that whole approach...I'm not going to sell it out to the
Belgians anytime soon."
Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari is returning to
reality TV. Kristin has been confirmed as the replacement for Lauren
Conrad on The Hills next season. Cavallari makes her debut in
this season’s finale on May 31 when she catches the bouquet at Heidi and
Spencer’s wedding.
According to a posting on Black Label Society's MySpace page, the band
will team up with Mudvayne and Static-X for a U.S. tour this
summer. Exact cities and dates are expected to be announced soon.
Megadeth score film music for Will Ferrell: "I'm going to
be working on the new Will Ferrell movie, Land of the Lost... going to be
putting some music on that," frontman Dave Mustaine says. "I went
and saw the movie last week and it was hilarious. I loved it."
Director Kenneth Branagh has lined up his two lead stars for the
film adaptation of the Marvel Comics series Thor. Chris
Hemsworth (Star Trek) will take on the lead hero role of Thor while Tom
Hiddleston (HBO's The Gathering Storm) will take on the villain role of
Loki. The character of Loki is Thor's brother and tries to use his sorcery to
kill him. Thor is set to be released on May 20, 2011. It is expected that
Hemsworth's deal includes The Avengers movie which Marvel is
putting together for 2012, with the characters of Captain America, Iron Man and
The Incredible Hulk set to appear.
Abel Ferrara, Forrest Whitaker and 50 Cent
will be joining Keanu Reeves in Jekyll and Hyde, a modern
retelling of the book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert
Louis Stevenson.
Kevin Spacey will star in the true story thriller Casino
Jack where he will play Jack Abramoff. Variety reports that Abramoff was a
high powered lobbyist whose bribery schemes and fraudulent dealings with Indian
casinos landed him in jail.
5,000 people wanted to dance for Michael Jackson’s upcoming tour,
but only twelve lucky dancers have been chosen. The selected few were chosen
from around the globe including Canadians Devin Jamieson and
Daniel Celebre. The King of Pop surprised the winners in Los Angeles
after they were whittled down from 500 after 3 days of auditions. The dancers
will be performing with MJ during his 50 dates at London’s O2 Arena starting
this July.
Radiohead has confirmed that they’re back in studio working on the
follow-up to In Rainbows. Bassist Colin Greenwood said that the
new music is “really noisy and chaotic and really fun."
While rumours had been in the air that Pink and her husband Carey
Hart had reconciled, the singer made it official on yesterday's Ellen.
Pink told the talk show host that she and Hart are indeed back together, and
that getting remarried won't be necessary since they never signed divorce
papers.
Eminem turned to an unlikely friend when he was trying to kick his
prescription medication addiction: Elton John. Em told Detroit’s
Metro Times that he thought he could relate to Elton, who also went through a
substance abuse problem in the past. The rapper went as far as to say: "Me and
him have had similar lives and stuff."
A hand-written poem by a teenaged Bob Dylan and signed Bobby
Zimmerman goes on auction on June 23 during a Christie's pop culture sale.
Law & Order will match Gunsmoke's record 20 year run. NBC
renewed Dick Wolf's veteran crime drama for a 20th season. The
order is believed to be for 16 episodes.
LeftRightLeftRightLeft, the free live album that Coldplay is
giving away on CD to every fan who attends this summer's Viva La Vida
tour, is now available as a free download from the band's website.
