The Spy Next Door
Bob Ho (Jackie Chan) is an undercover CIA superspy who decides to
give up his career in espionage to settle down with his next-door neighbor and
girlfriend, Gillian. But Bob has one more mission to complete before Gillian
agrees to marry him: winning over her three opinionated kids. When Gillian
suddenly has to leave town, Bob volunteers to babysit the children so he can
earn their approval. But when one of the kids mistakenly downloads a top-secret
formula from his computer, Bob's archenemy, a Russian terrorist, moves in for
the attack, forcing Bob to juggle the roles of spy and prospective stepfather in
the most challenging mission of his career!

Moon
Astronaut Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is living on the far side of the
moon, completing a three year contract with Lunar Industries to mine Earth's
primary source of energy, Helium-3. It is a lonely job, made harder by a broken
satellite that allows no live communications home. Taped messages are all Sam
can send and receive. Thankfully, his time on the moon is nearly over, and Sam
will be reunited with his wife, Tess, and their three year old daughter, Eve, in
only a few short weeks. Suddenly, Sam's health starts to deteriorate. Painful
headaches, hallucinations and a lack of focus lead to an almost fatal accident
on a routine drive on the moon in a lunar rover. While recuperating back at the
base (with no memory of how he got there), Sam meets a younger, angrier version
of himself, who claims to be there to fulfill the same three year contract Sam
started all those years ago. Confined with what appears to be a clone of his
earlier self, and with a "support crew" on its way to help put the base back
into productive order, Sam is fighting the clock to discover what's going on and
where he fits into company plans.
The Buzz...
Confirming days of rumors, Jeff Gaspin, the chairman of NBC
Universal Entertainment, announced that starting Feb. 12, The
Jay Leno Show will no longer air at 10 p.m. but that the network
hoped to keep Leno for an 11:35 p.m. show, Conan O'Brien for 12:05 p.m.
and then Jimmy Fallon after that. But, Gaspin adds, "It's not a
done deal yet." Gaspin admits that The Jay Leno Show "did not meet affiliate
needs" but that through it all, Leno and O'Brien have been "incredibly gracious
and professional."
Stuart Townsend has departed Marvel Comics' movie
adaptation of Thor because of creative differences, according to sources
close to the production. Townsend had been cast as Fandral, an ally of Norse god
Thor. He was replaced by Joshua Dallas, according to the two
sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to
speak on the record. The cast change came as production was about to begin.
Avatar has just accomplished a very rare four peat on top of the weekend
box office with another $48.5 million in the bank. The James Cameron
epic easily outpaced this frame's competition and the only real challenger next
week is Book of Eli with Denzel Washington which is
tracking strongly. Avatar has a new domestic cume of $429 million and has made
an astounding $1.34 billion globally according to studio estimates. The big
question is whether it can topple Titanic's domestic high mark of $600
million set a decade ago. At this point, it's looking more and more likely.
For Oprah Winfrey fans, it's a Gold Ticket of a lifetime: an
expenses paid weekend extravaganza in New York City to commemorate the 10th
anniversary of O, The Oprah Magazine and to meet Oprah. The February
issue of O features a golden ticket sweepstakes for the Live Your Best Life
Weekend from May 7-9 in New York. Each magazine includes a pull out ticket
driving readers to log on to Oprah.com to see if the ticket is one of 10 winners
who, along with a guest, will be provided airfare, accommodations and tickets
for the weekend's events.
Blake Lively seemed the unlikeliest actress to win the role of the
Green Lantern's love interest, Carol Ferris, of all the 5
candidates reportedly considered for the part. However, the Gossip
Girl and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress impressed with her
audition and beat out the competition for the upcoming comic book adaptation. As
far as the rest of the cast goes, Ryan Reynolds has been cast as
the emerald hero, while the rest of cast remains unknown. The villain roles of
Dr. Hector Hammond and Sinestro will most likely be cast next.
David Hasselhoff is indeed leaving America's Got Talent.
Howie Mandel will replace him as a judge. Mandel, of course, is
best known nowadays for hosting Deal or No Deal. That show will continue
in syndication, but there are no plans to bring back the primetime version
anytime soon.
Josh Duhamel that he and his wife Fergie recently renewed
their wedding vows. Josh tells us that the couple got the idea from Heidi
Klum and Seal, who renewed their vows last May. He also said the
ceremony was great and that the couple may even plan to do it annually.
People Magazine reports that Marilyn Manson and Evan
Rachel Wood are engaged. In a romantic gesture, Manson proposed to the True
Blood actress while he was on stage in Paris. Manson, who is 19 years older than
Wood, has split with her twice before during their rocky courtship. He's also
been married once before, to burlesque star Dita Von Teese, but has
stated recently that he's a better person for his relationship with Wood.
Avril Lavigne’s fourth album, being produced by soon-to-be ex
husband Deryck Whibley, was supposed to be released last November.
Now Lavigne is saying the release is expected in “early 2010.” But a source says
it could be more like mid 2010 because the two young Canadians who moved to
Hollywood four years ago, got married and then separated, can’t stand working
with one another and are finding it “terribly frustrating” to finish the last
few songs.
After about a year of speculation, a rep for Disney confirmed today that
the Hannah Montana show will end after the fourth season, which
starts production this month.
Taylor Swift has made history. She’s now the highest selling
digital artist in music, after making sales of 24.3 million digital tracks.
Swift’s last album Fearless was the number one selling album of 2009.
Did Taylor Lautner leave Taylor Swift for his old
flame Selena Gomez? Online gossip sites are buzzing today with
reports that the Taylors broke up after Lautner rekindled his romance with Gomez
to the point where, quote “the sparks are flying.”
