The Meg
A massive creature attacks a deep sea submersible,
leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom
of the Pacific Ocean. With time running out, rescue
diver Jonas Taylor must save the crew and the ocean
itself from an unimaginable threat, a 75 foot long
prehistoric shark known as the Megalodon. Jason
Statham stars in this action packed shark attack.

Avengers: Infinity War
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to take on their
biggest villain yet: Thanos, the "Mad Titan." After his minions failed to
retrieve the Infinity Stones, Thanos heads to earth to get them for himself. He
plans to infuse them into a gauntlet that will give him the ultimate power over
space and time. Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and the rest of
the Avengers gather together for one last stand against a foe who wields the
power of life and death. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never
been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to
this moment.

City of Lies, the Brad Furman directed crime thriller
starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker and based
on the true story behind the investigation into the murder of rap star
Notorious B.I.G., has been pulled off its September 7 release date.
It was set to hit screens on what would have been the 46th birthday of the
iconic rapper, aka Biggie Smalls, who was gunned down in 1997 in a
drive-by in Los Angeles.
Jennifer Lopez has signed on to star in Hustlers, a film
adaptation based on a New York Times article by Jessica
Pressler titled The Hustlers at Scores. Lorene Scafaria
is directing the film from a screenplay she adapted. The article was about a
group of former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on
their Wall Street clients.
Midwest fans of Buckcherry are going to have two chances to see the band
next weekend. First up is a headlining stint Friday August 17 at the ever
popular Northwoods Rock Rally with Josh Todd and the gang
getting support from Lit, P.O.D. and Alien Ant
Farm amongst a host of other events including a Saturday night show with

and tickets. Saturday the band will be featured at Black Bear Casino's
25th anniversary along with country artists Lorrie Morgan, Big
& Rich with fellow rockers Seether closing the show.
Showtime president and CEO David Nevins said that
Homeland‘s eighth season will be its last. The Alex Gansa-Howard
Gordon political thriller has won eight Emmys during its run
including best drama in 2012, plus two best actress trophies for star Claire
Danes.
Gal Gadot is attached to star in and executive produce a
Showtime series based on the life and career of Hedy Lamarr.
Lamarr was born in Austria and went on to become one of the most famous American
film stars of her generation, appearing in classics like Samson and
Delilah and Boom Town. Lamarr was also a celebrated
inventor, credited with creating a frequency hopping signal during World War II
that could help the Allies disrupt radio controlled torpedoes.
Supergirl is flying to the big screen again. Warner Bros.
and DC Entertainment are in the early stages of a Supergirl film. They
have hired Oren Uziel to write the script, but have not found a
producer yet. The character has been played by Melissa Benoist in
the titular CW series that’s heading into its fourth season.
LeBron James is set to executive produce a competition series that
has scored a series order at CBS. The series is currently titled
Million Dollar Mile. Contestants will have the chance to win
$1 million every time they run the Million Dollar Mile. Standing in their way is
a challenging course and a group of elite athletes with one mission: stop the
contestants from winning the money at all costs.
Black Panther was released almost six months ago on February 16,
but after weeks of hovering at around $699 million at the domestic box office,
it has finally crossed the $700 million threshold. It’s one of only three films
ever to do so.
Last Man Standing has found its replacement Boyd and Mandy.
Jet Jurgensmeyer and Molly McCook have joined the
Tim Allen sitcom ahead of its move to Fox, the network
announced on Monday. They step into the roles vacated by Molly Ephraim
and Flynn Morrison when the show was axed at ABC.
The Brady Bunch home has a new owner. HGTV has
purchased the house used to portray the exterior of the TV family's home.
David Zaslav, CEO of HGTV's parent company Discovery Inc,
announced the news during a Q2 earnings call.
Patrick Stewart has officially signed on to reprise his iconic
role as Jean-Luc Picard for the new Star Trek series on CBS All
Access. Stewart played Captain Picard for all seven seasons of The Next
Generation, as well as in four films. The new show will not be a reboot of
Star Trek: The Next Generation but an exploration of the next chapter of
Picard's life.
