At The Movies

Fifty Shades Freed
Believing they've left behind the shadowy figures from the past, billionaire Christian Grey (Jamie Doman) and his new wife, Anastasia (Dakota Johnson), fully embrace their inextricable connection and shared life of luxury. Just as the Greys begin to step into their new roles, sinister events come to light and jeopardize their happy ending before it even begins.

On DVD

Only The Brave
Through hope, determination, sacrifice and the drive to protect families and communities, the Granite Mountain Hotshots become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the country. While most people run from danger, they run toward it, watching over lives, homes and everything people hold dear, forging a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire in Yarnell, Ariz. An all star cast heads up one of the best films of 2017.

The Buzz...

John Mahoney, who was best known as Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce's irascible dad Martin on Frasier, has died. He was 77. As the curmudgeonly retired cop Martin Crane, Mahoney received two supporting actor Emmy nominations for his work on the 1993-2004 NBC hit.

James Mangold has come on board to direct a project about the battle between the designers at Ford and Ferrari to create the world’s fastest racecar.

Gal Gadot will voice herself in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. “I grew up watching The Simpsons and now I get to voice myself in an episode!” Gadot tweeted, accompanying a video of herself signing Marge Simpson’s hair. Gadot will star in an episode titled Bart’s Not Dead airing in during season 30, which will debut next fall.

Netflix has nabbed its second star studded show from Ryan Murphy. Following a weeklong bidding war, the streaming giant has handed out a two-season, straight to series order for The Politician, starring Tony winner Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen). Barbra Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow are in talks to co-star in the hourlong comedy from Glee co-creators Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

Super Bowl LII may have been down from last year, but its lead out program was way, way up. With a 16.2 rating in metered-market households, This Is Us scored the highest post-Super Bowl TV rating in six years, per early Nielsen numbers. The special Sunday episode’s numbers were 59 percent higher than last year’s premiere of 24: Legacy.

Taraji P. Henson has severed ties with her manager, Vincent Cirrincione, following recent claims of sexual misconduct against him.

Tim Matheson has booked a recurring role on the second season of CBS All Access drama The Good Fight.

HGTV has boarded up its popular Property Brothers, Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott, under a new multiyear deal. As part of the agreement, the twins’ Scott Brothers Entertainment will develop new home related series for high rated Scripps cable channel.

Dwayne Johnson had a surprise announcement late Super Bowl Sunday. The actor and producer, ahead of his time on The Tonight Show, announced that he was teaming with NBC for unscripted series The Titan Games. Johnson will host and exec produce the 10 episode unscripted competition show.

Jennifer Lawrence surprised fellow airplane passengers on a flight on Super Bowl Sunday when she took over the speaker and led a chant to support the Philadelphia Eagles.
