Mission: Impossible - Fallout
Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the IMF team
join forces with CIA assassin August Walker (Henry
Cavill) to prevent a disaster of epic
proportions. Arms dealer John Lark and a group of
terrorists known as the Apostles plan to use three
plutonium cores for a simultaneous nuclear attack on the
Vatican, Jerusalem and Mecca, Saudi Arabia. When the
weapons go missing, Ethan and his crew find themselves
in a desperate race against time to prevent them from
falling into the wrong hands.

In the year 2045, the real world is a harsh place. The only time Wade Watts (Tye
Sheridan) truly feels alive is when he escapes to the OASIS, an immersive
virtual universe where most of humanity spends their days. In the OASIS, you can
go anywhere, do anything, and be anyone the only limits are your own
imagination. The OASIS was created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday
(Mark Rylance), who left his immense fortune and total control of
the Oasis to the winner of a three part contest he designed to find a worthy
heir. When Wade conquers the first challenge of the reality bending treasure
hunt, he and his friends are hurled into a fantastical universe of discovery and
danger to save the OASIS.

Deadpool 2 director David Leitch is in early talks
with Warner Bros. to come on board a remake of Bruce Lee’s
1973 classic martial arts actioner Enter the Dragon.
Selena Gomez celebrated her birthday in the best way possible:
surrounded by those who love her most. On July 22, the pop star rang in her 26th
birthday and no expense was spared for the weekend long celebration in Selena's
new home of Newport Beach. The fun filled bash that was hosted on a private
yacht, which they boarded after spending the day lounging by the pool.
Days after Disney ousted Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director
James Gunn for recently resurfaced controversial tweets, hundreds
of thousands of fans have called on the studio behind the comic-book franchise
to rehire the filmmaker. Selma Blair, Dave Bautista,
and director Joe Carnahan were among those who shared a
Change.org petition on social media, urging Disney to “realize the mistake
they made and not do it again in the future.” As of Monday morning, it has
collected over 168,000 signatures.
Robert De Niro is in talks to join Joaquin
Phoenix in Todd Phillips’ untitled Joker origin movie.
Sources say De Niro would be portraying a talk-show host who plays a part in
driving Phoenix’s character to go mad and become the Clown Prince of Crime.
Jesse Camp, a one-time video jockey for MTV’s Total Request
Live, has been reported missing in Riverside, California. Camp’s sister,
Marisha, reported to Riverside police on July 19 that she had last seen her
brother in California, and announced his disappearance in an Instagram
story.
WWE has set its first ever all women wrestler pay per view event,
Evolution. The event is set to take place Oct. 28, 2018 at Long Island, New
York’s Nassau Coliseum. Starting at 7 p.m. Et, Evolution will air on WWE Network
and be available via PPV platforms around the world.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again might not have nabbed the box office crown,
but its domestic debut is still something to sing about. Universal’s jukebox
musical launched with a solid $76.4 million globally, including $34 million in
North America and $43.4 million overseas. If its predecessors’ lengthy
theatrical run is any indication, the future of the Mamma Mia! sequel
looks promising.
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s Jungle
Cruise continues to round out its cast, adding Veronica Falcon,
Dani Rovira and Andy Nyman.
If anyone did Comic-Con right this year, it's Mark Hamill.
The actor went completely incognito for the annual convention, showing up each
day in a different costume that paid tribute to the Star Wars
franchise. Hamill was completely unrecognizable as he walked through the San
Diego Convention Center, only to reveal his various disguises on social
media over the weekend.
David Bowie‘s earliest studio recording as a singer, long-lost but
unearthed by a former band mate, will head to auction in September.
Sela Ward has signed on for a major role in the upcoming CBS
drama FBI. Ward joins the series in place of Connie Nielsen, who
starred in the show’s pilot. Ward will not be taking over Nielsen’s role,
however, but will instead be playing a new character named Dana Mosier who will
be introduced in the second episode.
The Orville, Seth MacFarlane's Star Trek
inspired series, has cast a former member of the starship Enterprise in its
upcoming season. John Billingsley, who played Dr. Phlox in all
four seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise, will appear in the second episode
of The Orville Season 2.
