Tully
Marlo (Charlize Theron) is a New York suburbanite who's about to give birth to her third child. Her husband, Ron, is loving and works hard, but remains clueless about the demands that motherhood puts on his wife. When the baby is born, Marlo's wealthy brother hires a nighttime nanny named Tully to help his sister handle the workload. Hesitant at first, Marlo soon learns to appreciate all that Tully does, forming a special bond with her new, life saving friend.

The Buzz...

Paul Feig is attached to direct a movie version of the children’s story The Sweetest Fig, based on the illustrated book by Chris Van Allsburg. The Sweetest Fig was published in 1993 and takes place in Paris, centered on a wealthy dentist who lives alone in an apartment with his dog, who he mistreats. His dog eats a magic fig, which transforms the dentist into the dog and the dog into the dentist.

Warner Bros. is in the early stages of rebooting of the 1980s sitcom, ALF. The insider stresses that the reboot is in very early stages of development. The news was first reported by TV Line. No network is attached. NBC, which aired ALF for four seasons, and Warner Bros. TV declined to comment.

The domestic box office weekend looks to be a battle between Disney’s Christopher Robin and the sophomore frame of Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible Fallout as both titles head for three day totals around $30 million. Newcomer The Spy Who Dumped Me is targeting low double digits.

Amazon has opted not to order a second season of Bryan Cranston’s family comedy drama The Dangerous Book For Boys. The decision comes four months after the series’ first season was released. The cancellation should not come as a surprise. Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke stated about The Dangerous Book For Boys‘ renewal chances in June, “It’s looking very tough for the cost of the show. It’s really difficult, coming from the genre where it exists and the kind of audience it’s drawing. The math doesn’t quite work.”

J.J. Abrams is now officially active on Twitter and for his first-ever tweet, he announced that Star Wars 9 has started filming while also talking about Carrie Fisher and shouting out Rian Johnson and George Lucas. As most directors and celebrities are either deleting their Twitter accounts or trying to sanitize them, J.J. Abrams has decided to stick his toes in the social media pool for the first time. In addition to the kind words, Abrams also posted a picture from the set.

Almost eight weeks after saying goodbye to Anthony Bourdain, CNN is getting ready to say goodbye to his series Parts Unknown, too. CNN revealed that Bourdain’s program would air its final season this fall, consisting of five episodes, only one of which was completed before Bourdain’s death by suicide in June.

Nicole Kidman is in talks to play former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson in Fair and Balanced, Annapurna’s upcoming movie about disgraced Fox News Chief Roger Ailes. Kidman will join Charlize Theron, who will portray former Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

Chris Hardwick will return to work at NBC, the network announced. The host will appear on next week’s episode of America’s Got Talent as scheduled, and will return to host the third season of The Wall when the game show resumes production in the fall.

Rashida Jones is set to co-direct a Netflix documentary on her father Quincy Jones alongside Alan Hicks.

Linda Hamilton is reprising her role as iconic character Sarah Connor in the upcoming Terminator sequel and the first official photo has been released. The image shows Hamilton as the battle hardened character who fought the machines in 1984's The Terminator and 1991's Terminator 2.
