At The Movies

Penguins
Disneynature's all new feature film Penguins is a coming of age story about an Adelie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he's targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after.

On DVD

Justice League vs. The Fatal Five
A return to the DC Comics Animated Universe that took off in the 90s with cartoons such as Batman and Justice League. Set in the same comic-book continuity of these cartoons, this movie follows the further adventures of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and more as they face a new threat. A new Green lantern is arriving on the scene and a band of time traveling villains known as the Fatal Five show up in Metropolis to destroy her. The Justice League must now face this threat with the help of some new super powered friends.

The Buzz...

After four straight weekends featuring a new #1 film at the weekend box office, Warner Bros.'s Shazam! took the crown for a second weekend in a row, topping a flurry of newcomers that delivered varying returns.

More than two and a half years after Angelina Jolie first filed for divorce, she and Brad Pitt are about to be single again. A judge ruled that the stars can go back to being legally single before they finalize their divorce settlement, a legal move known as bifurcation that Jolie, 43, and Pitt, 55, requested, according to court documents filed Friday.

Megan Fox will be celebrating her 33rd birthday on May 16, and yes, she's still as hot as ever. Between her sexy smolder and piercing blue eyes, there are few stars who can get our hearts racing like the actress. Thankfully, we'll get to see Megan on the big screen soon as war correspondent Marguerite Higgins in the upcoming Jangsa-ri 9.15 film.

It's over for Dina Lohan and Jesse Nadler. After five years of online dating, the Big Brother: Celebrity Edition alum has called it quits with her boyfriend, who she had yet to meet in person.

Elton John biopic Rocketman has been set for a May 16 world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Taron Egerton stars as John with Paramount Pictures distributing worldwide. It’s directed by Dexter Fletcher, who previously took the reins on Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody after director Bryan Singer was fired.

Are you ready for more gossip, costume parties, preschool drama, and potentially murder? I hope so, because the highly anticipated second season of Big Little Lies will be here before you know it. HBO announced that season two of the Emmy Award-winning drama will premiere on June 9, which it marked by also revealing a brand new teaser.

This year’s Star Wars Celebration kicked off its final day in Chicago with a much hyped first look at the franchise’s very first live action television series. Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian also marks the first planned series to be available exclusively on Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ when it launches in mid-November.

Universal Pictures is developing a wedding comedy after winning an auction for a pitch by Mindy Kaling, Priyanka Chopra and Dan Goor. Kaling, who will write the screenplay with Goor, is attached to star alongside Chopra and will potentially direct. Kaling will produce for her Kaling International, Chopra for Purple Pebble Pictures, Howard Klein for 3 Arts, alongside Goor.
