Dora and the Lost City of Gold
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure yet; high school. Accompanied by a ragtag group of teens and Boots the monkey, Dora embarks on a quest to save her parents while trying to solve the seemingly impossible mystery behind a lost Incan civilization, the lost city of gold. Benicio Del Toro, Eva Longoria, Danny Trejo and Michael Pena also star in this adaptation of a TV kids classic.

The Buzz...

The Fast & Furious franchise has yet again delivered a #1 opener with the franchise spin-off Hobbs & Shaw taking the top spot at this weekend's box office. Overall the weekend showed improvement over the same weekend last year for the third straight week in a row and on top of Hobbs & Shaw, continued strong performances from The Lion King, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the platform release of A24's The Farewell helped what has been a bit of a late summer surge at the domestic box office.

Riverdale transplant Josie McCoy touches down in the Big Apple in the first full length trailer for the upcoming spinoff Katy Keene. Launching at midseason, Katy Keene, which takes place five years after Riverdale, stars Pretty Little LiarsLucy Hale as the eponymous fashion designer and Archie Comics character, who welcomes aspiring musician Josie (Ashleigh Murray) as her new roommate.

Supernatural is ending after its upcoming 15th season, but series star Jensen Ackles says he’s open to returning to the world down the line. The upcoming 20 episode season is set to cap off Supernatural’s run as the longest running sci-fi/fantasy series in American broadcast television history and bring the show’s total to a whopping 327 episodes.

Congressman and presidential candidate Tim Ryan suspended his campaign to return to his state of Ohio where one of this weekend’s mass shootings took place. An obviously frustrated Ryan blasted Republicans for doing nothing about gun control, telling MSNBC, “Republicans need to, quite frankly, get their shit together and stop pandering to the NRA because people are getting killed.”

Chinese animated feature Nezha has overtaken Disney’s Zootopia to become the highest grossing animation of all time at the Chinese box office. Nezha broke Zootopia’s $220 million record on August 2 after only eight days on release.

Disney’s domination at the global box office and its plans to take on Netflix will be centre stage when it reports its latest results this week, with films from Avengers: Endgame to The Lion King driving its best year ever on the big screen. The share price of the world’s biggest entertainment company has surged by more than a quarter over the past year, making for a $260 billion stock market valuation as it continues to dominate cinemas while plotting its streaming future with the launch of its rival to Netflix later this year.

It Chapter Two will terrify audiences next month, and as we get closer and closer to the horror sequel, you can expect to see an increase in publicity material. That includes two creepy new posters which put Pennywise the Dancing Clown right up in your face, ready to give you a slew of nightmares.

Afton Williamson said that she exited the ABC series The Rookie due to repeated instances of racial discrimination as well as sexual assault and harassment.

More details are coming out about HBO Max’s Gossip Girl reboot, and if there’s any indication, the next generation of Upper East Siders will be getting away with a whole lot more.

Freshly back on American soil, A$AP Rocky is celebrating his release from Swedish custody by attending Kanye West’s Sunday Service. A$AP Rocky was spotted in videos posted online chatting with Kendall Jenner and A$AP Ferg at the weekly service.

Celebrating the upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot on Fox, Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth enjoyed a fun night out at the Instagram-worthy (and deeply nostalgic) Peach Pit Pop Up in Los Angeles.

Valentina Sampaio has reportedly been hired to appear in a Victoria's Secret campaign, which would make her the first openly transgender model for the lingerie company, which has been trying to rebrand.

Batman and Black Lightning are coming to The CW's Crisis. As revealed at the 2019 Television Critics Association summer press tour, the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover will span five episodes across to quarters and feature characters from Black Lightning in their first ever Arrowverse crossover and Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne from the future.
