The Buzz...
Angelina Jolie is proving she's a superhero on and off the big
screen. The legendary actress is stepping into the shoes of Maleficent
once again in Disney's upcoming sequel and will suit up to play Thena
in Marvel's Eternals film. But despite playing two of the strongest
characters in movies right now, she reveals it took some time to get into that
mindset.
There's a lot to love about Taylor Swift's new album. Even though
the 29 year old artist just released Lover on Friday, it's already the
top selling album in the U.S. According to Billboard, citing Nielsen
Music data, the seventh studio album approached 500,000 sales through its second
day of release on Saturday. As a result, it's reportedly passed the year to date
sales of A Star Is Born, which was 2019's previous top-seller.
Jennifer Lopez is on top of the world. At 50, the multifaceted
star is a top-selling vocalist, an applauded actress and a powerhouse producer.
But Lopez's life wasn't always this charmed, as she recalls in her cover story
for Variety. In fact, as Lopez shares in the article, she was turned down
for roles in the past because of her ethnicity.
There's some serious girl power in store for season nine of Total Divas. WWE
stars Ronda Rousey and Sonya Deville will join
Nattie Neidhart (known professionally as Natalya), Nia Jax
and Trinity Fatu (known professionally as Naomi) for Total Divas'
upcoming season.
Lizzie McGuire is back. The fan favorite character played by
Hilary Duff for two seasons producing 65 episodes from 2001-2004 and
a movie, will return in a new Disney+ sequel series. Duff is back, as is
original series creator Terri Minsky, and the new series will
follow the character as a millennial living life in New York City.
The new teaser for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is here. Disney
released the two-minute and 11-second clip after debuting the new footage at its
D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. over the weekend.
The original Blue’s Clues host Steve Burns is returning to
make an appearance in the series premiere of Nickelodeon’s remake, Blue’s
Clues and You! Burns will be joined by fellow former host
Donovan Patton (Joe), with the pair assisting the new host, Josh
Dela Cruz, in solving his first game of Blue’s Clues.
Renee Zellweger is making a bigger commitment to television. The
actress has signed an exclusive two-year, first-look deal with MGM TV.
Under the new pact, Zellweger and her The Big Picture Co. producing
partner Carmella Casinelli will develop new scripted projects,
which Zellweger might eventually direct and star in.
The first official look at the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series
WandaVision has arrived via a poster that was handed out during D23 this
past weekend. The series finds Elizabeth Olsen and Paul
Bettany reprising their roles as Wanda/Scarlet Witch and Vision,
respectively, from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is
interesting because spoiler alert Vision got straight-up murdered by Thanos in
Avengers: Infinity War. |
