The Kid Who Would Be King
Old school magic meets the modern world when young Alex
(Louis Ashbourne Serkis) stumbles
upon the mythical sword Excalibur. He soon unites his
friends and enemies, and they become knights who join
forces with the legendary wizard Merlin (Patrick
Stewart). Together, they must save mankind from the
wicked enchantress Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson)
and her army of supernatural warriors.

When the Russian president is captured in the upheaval of a coup by the
military, an American submarine crew and its captain (Gerard Butler)
chart a course to save him. To prevent World War 3 from happening, victory in
the hostile Russian waters depends on their ability to overcome untested skills
and unexpected challenges. The battle can only be won if the submarine and its
highly trained Navy SEAL team can bring back the foreign president alive.

Christina Aguilera has announced a Las Vegas residency, which will
take place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater. Dubbed
Christina Aguilera: The Xperience, it kicks off in May and runs
through October.
William Esper, the influential acting teacher and Sanford
Meisner disciple who lent his expertise to Kim Basinger,
John Malkovich, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Rockwell,
Tracee Ellis Ross and countless others, has died. He was
86.
Make no mistake, Rihanna hasn't forgotten about her music career. The
singer turned entrepreneur recently celebrated the third anniversary of her
eighth and most recent studio album Anti, which still continues to chart
on Billboard. On Instagram, Rihanna wrote, "Thank you for your
continued support and enthusiasm," and told fans that she's "blessed to have
y'all!"
Kim Kardashian is on the move for her cause. The reality star, who
has gotten involved in criminal justice reform advocacy in the past year, spent
time among leaders and change makers at the California State Capitol in
Sacramento. Naturally, the longtime TV star and beauty mogul did not go
unnoticed among the Legislature as senators and assemblymembers posed for photos
with the mother of three and praised her for her time spent visiting.
Gwyneth Paltrow is facing a lawsuit from a Utah doctor who claims
the actress crashed into him while skiing in February 2016.
Project Runway returns to original home Bravo with a 90-minute
episode on March 14. The fashion format heads back to the NBCUniversal
cable network for Season 17 after 11 seasons on rival Lifetime with a
supersized episode at 8 PM.
Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern have signed on
for War of the Worlds, the upcoming adaptation of the H.G. Wells
classic for Fox in Europe and Africa and Canal Plus in
France. Stuart Ford’s AGC Television has also boarded the series
as a finance and sales partner and will co-distribute internationally.
Chucky is slashing his way to television, with Syfy landing the
rights to develop a series based on the famously red-haired, freckle-faced
possessed doll.
Vanessa Williams has signed on for a lead role in the ABC
single-cam comedy pilot Happy Accident. She joins previously
announced cast members Matt Walsh and Joanna Garcia
Swisher.
Ryan Reynolds is getting back into the romantic comedy game, but
with an action twist. Reynolds will star in Shotgun Wedding for
Lionsgate. Pitch Perfect filmmaker Jason Moore
will direct the film, which centers on a couple whose extravagant destination
wedding is overrun by criminals. The couple must save both of their families,
and along the way are reminded of why they wanted to get married.
The Alanis Morissette musical, Jagged Little Pill,
is officially coming to Broadway. The musical's producers confirmed that after a
successful 10 week run at the American Repertory Theater's
Loeb Drama Center in Boston last Summer, the musical is ready to
make its debut on the Great White Way this Fall. |
