Shazam!
We all have a superhero inside of us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14 year old Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi). Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do, have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he'll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam's magical abilities.

The Buzz...

It was a repeat weekend for last week's top two films as Sony's Spider-Man: Far from Home topped the weekend while nearing $850 million globally and Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 4 found itself in the runner-up position while becoming the fifth largest Pixar release domestically ever.

The Good Place’s awards profile has risen gradually over the course of its three seasons, and it’s possible Kristen Bell will finally capitalize on that. She’s in a crowded Emmy race for Best Comedy Actress, and if she makes the cut it’ll be the first primetime nomination of her career, just in time for the return of what should have been the first primetime nomination (and win) of her career: Veronica Mars.

20th Century Fox released a first look image of actress Ariana DeBose in the role of Anita for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming West Side Story. DeBose first rose to fame as a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, before landing roles in Broadway shows such as Motown the Musical, Pippin, Hamilton and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. As Anita, DeBose plays the girlfriend of Bernardo, the leader of the Puerto Rican gang the Sharks who are at odds with the white American gang the Jets.

Disney and Marvel’s box office leviathan Avengers: Endgame collected another $2.8 million at the global box office this weekend, boosting ticket sales to a massive $2.78 billion worldwide. That puts Avengers: Endgame just $7.16 million behind Avatar’s all-time record of $2.788 billion. James Cameron’s sci-fi epic has held strong as the highest grossing movie of all time for almost a decade.

Paul McCartney reunited with Ringo Starr to perform two Beatles classics during the bassist’s concert at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium on Saturday night. “We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone: Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only, Ringo Starr,” McCartney said introducing his former band mate to a rapturous Dodger Stadium crowd.

Saturday night’s premiere of Hobbs & Shaw was brought to a halt following a brief electrical issue in the Dolby Theater. Reports from inside the venue say an electrical grid toward the front of the theater started sparking about 30 minutes into the screening, causing flashes and loud popping sounds to fill the room. The sparks then moved upward from the floor in the center of the orchestra and back toward a block of seats.

Serena Williams praised Meghan Markle is a "great friend" after the Duchess of Sussex came to support her at the 2019 Wimbledon women's singles final, which she lost.

YouTube Star Gigi Gorgeous is married! The 27 year old Canadian beauty influencer and activist, who became even more famous in 2013 after coming out as a transgender woman, has wed Nats Getty.
