At The Movies

Wonder Park
A young imaginative 10 year old girl named Cameron "June" (Brianna Denski) spent her childhood days constructing an amusement park filled with fantastical rides and inhabited by talking animals called Wonderland with her mother (Jennifer Garner) and her friends, but she lost her sense of imagination and wonder after her mother died and growing up, until she finds the real Wonderland in the woods while at math camp. She needs to team up with the animals to stop the destruction of Wonderland by Chimpanzombies and bring it back to life.

Green Book
Fresh off an Academy Award win for best picture, Green Book is the real life account of Jamaican born pianist Don Shirley's musical tour through the Deep South during the Jim Crow era. Shirley (Mahershala Ali) enlists the services of rough and tough New York City bouncer Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen) as his personal chauffeur and bodyguard as he performs jazz piano sets through a section of America where he is most unwelcome. While the duo's personalities and lifestyles clash at first, their bond on the road strengthens as they each navigate the culture shock and harsh racism of the 1960s American South in their own ways.

The Buzz...

NBC will honor Luke Perry, who died this week after suffering a stroke, by airing the episode of Saturday Night Live that he hosted back in 1993. The episode, which included Mick Jagger as the musical guest, will air as part of “SNL’s” classic set of shows at 10 p.m. Et/Pt on Saturday nights. Each week, SNL picks an old episode to air alongside its new episodes.

The Green Arrow is putting down his bow and arrow for good. Star Stephen Amell revealed that Arrow's recently announced eighth season will be its final one and consist of 10 episodes.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have been one of the most glamorous couples to hit the red carpets and the streets since they started dating two years ago. The lovebirds surprised their combined 90 million plus Instagram followers by announcing to the world that they are engaged. Both J.Lo and A-Rod posted the same photo of the artist showing off her diamond sparkler engagement ring.

There’s been no end to public outcry ever since HBO’s Leaving Neverland premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January. The details unearthed in Leaving Neverland have resulted in a permanent tainting of the powerful singer’s legacy. Radio stations have begun pulling Jackson’s music from their sets and the one-time earning power of the Jackson estate is now in question.

Captain Marvel is headed for a heroic debut of $155 million to $160 million at the domestic box office after earning $61.4 million on Friday. Even at $150 million, the first female-fronted superhero pic from Marvel Studios and Disney would land the second best opening of all time for a comic book adaptation starring a new character behind Black Panther ($200 million), as well as the seventh biggest for any title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Soap vet Jed Allan, best known for his roles on NBC’s Days of Our Lives and Santa Barbara, has died. He was 84.

After the recent docuseries detailing sexual assault allegations about music icons Michael Jackson and R. Kelly, Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson took to the Weekend Update desk to try to institute a rule that if you still want to listen to their music, “you just have to admit they’re bad people.”

Justin Bieber's clothing line has his second collection launching, while some fans wait for the first to deliver. Several Drew House customers haven't received their orders from the enormously popular brand's Collection 1, which launched on January 29. It was such a hit, it sold out in a day.

After a critically acclaimed first season in 2017, Showtime's Smilf seemed like one of the network's most promising new shows. Showrunner Frankie Shaw also starred in the Boston-based comedy as Bridgette Bird, whom we watch struggle with everything from sex and dating as a single mother to more serious themes, like classism, abuse, and eating disorders, in clever, nuanced ways. But now Showtime has decided to pull the plug on the series before its third season, amid the disturbing misconduct claims Shaw is facing from people who worked on her set.

Riverdale has made certain it will honor its late patriarch for seasons to come. Following Luke Perry's death on March 4, the show dedicated its most recent episode to the actor who portrayed Fred Andrews. Not only that, but the show's creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed all future episodes will also be dedicated to Perry.

Hot on the heels of their long-awaited musical return, the Jonas Brothers are back to give you yet another reason to have a complete meltdown. The group is teaming up with Amazon Studios to release a documentary that might just address why they broke up and what their road to getting back together has been like.
