At The Movies

The Ant Bully
New in town, friendless and tormented by a neighborhood bully, young Lucas Nickle has been taking out his frustration on the innocent ant hill in his yard. But one day the ants retaliate. Using a magic potion, they shrink Lucas down to ant size and sentence him to live like an ant in their colony. In this strange, new world, Lucas will learn important lessons about friendship, get a whole new perspective on life and ultimately find the courage to stand up for himself. An all star cast voices this family flick.

Gus (Rob Schneider) and his nerdy buddies, Richie (David Spade) and Clark (Jon Heder), are scouted by a millionaire nerd, Mel, who wants to form a baseball team and compete with the meanest Little League teams in the state. A stellar ballplayer, Gus becomes a role model for nerds and outcasts everywhere. But when his fans learn that Gus, himself, was once a school bully, they feel outraged and betrayed, until Gus takes extraordinary steps to win back their admiration and trust.

U2 will be taking Kanye West on the road. The rapper will open the band’s make-up dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. The originally scheduled shows were cancelled last year due to an unidentified illness in the U2 camp. The Vertigo tour is now the top-grossing tour in music history.

Warped Tour organizers say their Warped Eco Initiative has been a huge success so far this summer. Organizers say their recycling teams have collected 7,000 pounds of plastic, 3,000 pounds of aluminum, and 560 pounds of cardboard, all of which would have gone into venue garbage cans. The catering crew has also been helping by cutting back on paper goods. And the entire sound system is solar powered.
