At The Movies

The Da Vinci Code
Ron
Howard directs this long awaited film adaptation of the best selling book. The murder of a curator at the Louvre reveals a sinister plot to uncover a secret that has been protected since the days of Christ. Only the victim's granddaughter and Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a famed symbologist, can untangle the clues he left behind. The duo become both suspects and detectives searching for not only the murderer but also the stunning secret of the ages he was charged to protect. Faithful to the original, with all the twists and turns one could ask for.

At The Movies
Over The Hedge

Spring has sprung, and Verne and his friends discover that a tall, green "thing" has mysteriously cropped up right through the middle of their home. Enter RJ, an opportunistic raccoon, who explains that the world beyond the hedge is the "gateway to the good life" where peculiar creatures called humans live to eat, rather than eat to live. Suspicious and even a little jealous of RJ, the ever-cautious Verne wants to keep his blended family safely on their side of the hedge. RJ tries to convince the woodland band that there is little to fear and everything to gain from their over indulgent new neighbors. Eventually, RJ and Verne form an unlikely friendship as they learn to co-exist with, and even exploit this strange new world called suburbia.

The Buzz..

Sum 41 are working on new material, but they're doing it without guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh, who has quit the band, citing creative differences.

21-year-old actress Scarlett Johansson wants to keep it clean. The Lost In Translation star walked out on a recent photo shoot refusing to pose nude for a L'Oreal body cream ad. The execs were puzzled by her refusal to tastefully reveal her curves, given the fact that Johansson recently appeared nude on the cover of Vanity Fair.

Britney Spears says she's turning her back on the Jewish mystic tradition of Kabbalah. In a terse message on her website, Brit writes "I know longer study Kaballah. My baby is my religion." It seems Britney quit her studies a little prematurely, as she spelled Kabbalah incorrectly in her message.

It looks like the on again, off again love affair of Jake Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst is over. The Brokeback Mountain star is reportedly dating Gretchen Bleiler, an Olympic snowboarder. Bleiler is reportedly moving from Colorado to LA just to be with Jake.

Ali larter grabs role

Ali Larter, Ashanti, and Chris Egan will join the cast of Resident Evil 3, which is said to be titled Resident Evil: Extinction. They join veterans Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr and Mike Epps in Screen Gems' videogame-based horror thriller. Larter will play Claire, a new character to the film franchise who was introduced in the video game Resident Evil 2.

Eva Longoria tops Maxim's seventh annual Hot 100 list of the most successful women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion for the second year in a row.

Psychic Uri Geller and two partners have bought the Tennessee house Elvis Presley lived in before moving to Graceland, with a winning bid of $905,100 on eBay.

T.I. has called off his tour of Japan due to his ongoing legal troubles. The rapper is due in court today for allegedly failing to perform community service for an earlier conviction.

The Weinstein Company has acquired the rights to develop and produce a feature film based on the original hit television series Knight Rider. The original hit television show ran on NBC from 1982 through 1986 and starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight.

Chad Michael Murray was banned from escorting his fiancée Kenzie Dalton to her senior prom. The One Tree Hill star wanted to accompany his sweetie, but reportedly the school has a policy that no one over 20 is allowed to attend the prom.

Frankie Muniz, Ryan Pinkston, Jamie Kennedy, Andy Milonakis and Matthew Lillard will lead an ensemble cast in writers directors Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson's (Not Another Teen Movie) teen sketch sex comedy Parental Guidance Suggested.

Pop star Ashlee Simpson is laughing off rumors that she had a nose job, but is not exactly denying it either. The tabloids and internet sites have been buzzing with allegations that the singer had the distinctive bump on her nose removed.

Rachael Taylor and Amaury Nolasco will co-star in DreamWorks' Transformers. Michael Bay is directing the live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes and ships. They join Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Jon Voight and Bernie Mac. Taylor will play Maggie Marconi, a codebreaker at a think tank. Nolasco and Gibson are Army officers.

You can add rapping to the list of Jodie Foster's talents. The Oscar winning actress spoke at the University of Pennsylvania's commencement ceremonies, ending her address with the chorus of Eminem's Lose Yourself from 8 Mile.

Chris Rock will direct the comedy I Think I Love My Wife for Fox Searchlight, replacing Charles Stone who was originally attached to helm. Rock penned the screenplay with collaborator Louis C.K. Rock also stars in the comedy, along with Kerry Washington and Gina Torres, in this remake of Eric Rohmer's 1972 French comedy Chloe in the Afternoon.

Maggie Grace is in negotiations to star opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alec Baldwin in The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing. Based on Melissa Bank's best seller, the story chronicles a young woman's journey through the New York publishing world and her relationship with one of the industry's luminaries as her father battles a terminal illness.
