The Ugly Truth
Abby (Katherine Heigl) is a successful, single television producer who's beyond picky when it comes to potential mates. Mike (Gerard Butler) is a new guest commentator whose shallow, chauvinistic personality dances on Abby's every last nerve. She strikes a deal with Mike: if she follows his advice on how to snare a certain sexy surgeon and it doesn't work, he'll quit the show. Either way Abby wins. Either she gets the perfect man or gets rid of the perfect nightmare. Sometimes, though, perfection lurks where you least expect it.

Watchmen
In an alternate 1985 America, costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the Doomsday Clock, which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union, is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime fighting legion, a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers, Rorschach glimpses a wide ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity, but who is watching the watchmen?

The Buzz..

On the heels of getting engaged to Hailey Glassman, Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin was seen out with yet another young, hot blonde. But no cheating was going on (this time). Jon Boy was out with Kate Major, a senior reporter for Star magazine. It appears that instead of eschewing the gossip mags and publicity like the Gosselins said they would after announcing their separation, Jon is meeting with them one on one, probably for some exclusive stuff told from his POV.

The CW's The Beautiful Life: TBL has had a little hiccup. The production start date on the new fall drama about models in New York has been pushed back one week, from July 22 to the 31st. And no, it's not because of Mischa Barton's meltdown. Apparently, the show's sets haven't been finished yet. We're still worried that Mischa won't make it back to primetime TV though. This past week she was put under involuntary psychiatric hold, which isn't really a good sign, especially when she's had a history of personal issues and rehab.

In a new interview with Classic Rock magazine, Slash admits that Velvet Revolver is currently at a, quote, "standstill." The guitarist says, "I haven't heard any amazing submissions from singers as of late. Velvet, when it finds the right guy, will be amazing, but I'm in no rush." In the meantime, he's continuing work on his solo debut while bassist Duff McKagan tours with his band Loaded.

Michael Jackson has proven again that his reign as the King Of Pop has not been forgotten. MJ topped Billboard's album charts again this week, selling a combined 1.1 million copies in the U.S., three weeks after his death on June 25th. Since his death, Michael Jackson has sold more than 2.3 million albums in the U.S. AEG Live, the company behind Michael Jackson's planned comeback in London, is negotiating with several Hollywood studios seeking a deal to release in movie theaters a documentary about the final days of the pop singer

Kid Rock reportedly busted out a new song when he performed a pair of shows over the weekend in his hometown of Detroit. Billboard reports he used his encore both nights to treat the crowd to a track called In Times Like These, inspired by the nation's tough economic times. Played acoustically at the Comerica Park shows, it includes the lyrics "I heard them say they're shutting Detroit down/But I won't leave 'cause this is my home town." Kid's expected to begin work on a new album, with producer Rick Rubin when he finishes his summer tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Metallica have announced that they'll play a benefit concert for California's Marin History Museum. The band members are all longtime residents of Marin County, a San Francisco suburb. The funds raised at the September 11th show will finance an exhibit called Marin Rocks, which will showcase the county's musical heritage.

Marilyn Manson will produce a musical film version of classic fairy tale Cinderella with a goth twist. The all singing film will reportedly star Harry Potter moppet Emma Watson, while the full nature of Manson’s involvement as producer is still up in the air.

Crue Fest 2 is no longer being billed in announcements as the White Trash Circus. But the hype does live on. They just announced a second stage for most dates on this year's festival. The new stage doubles the entertainment value at Crue Fest 2 with five additional bands - Rev Theory, Cavo, Shram and 16 Second Stare plus one band chosen locally in select markets, showcasing the next generation of rock. Crüe Fest 2 stars Mötley Crüe with Godsmack, Theory Of A Deadman, Drowning Pool and introduces Charm City Devils.

Coldplay have become the first artist to sell more than a million digital albums in the U.S. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the English rockers set the mark with sales of their four full length albums, live album and EP. The total brings Coldplay to more than 2 million albums sold digitally worldwide.

Just days after Amy Winehouse was granted a divorce, ex-husband Blake Fielder Civil is now seeking a huge payday for being the singer's muse. Blake has said that he feels he is entitled to a settlement for being the inspiration behind Winehouse's multi platinum album, Back To Black, some of which was written about Blake cheating on Amy with his ex-girlfriend. He is reportedly asking for £6 million.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince broke the midnight opening record, making an amazing $22.2 million dollars at its early Wednesday morning showings. This magical, money making movie shatters the previous midnight record held by The Dark Knight.

Justin Timberlake is opening his very own eco-friendly golf course on July 25th. Located in his home state of Tennessee, the course was saved by the star from becoming a commercial development two years ago, and was designed to be environmentally friendly. The first course ever to be certified by the Audubon Classic Sanctuary Program, the $16 million project will include solar paneled golf carts and a much greener green.

The former home of Bruce Lee is now a love motel, renting rooms by the hour. But officials have launched a design competition to turn it into a Hong Kong museum for the kung fu icon.

Music can be as crucial to exercise as water and spandex, and a spinning instructor's playlist or an iPod's inventory can make or break a workout. As part of its branding strategy, the upscale fitness club chain Equinox has enlisted artists like Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Cyndi Lauper and Michael Buble to submit their own playlists for EQ Sessions Celebrity Sets that will launch at Equinox.com this fall.

The price of the Connecticut mega-mansion owned by rapper 50 Cent has dropped again to $10.9 million. The 50,000 square foot mansion was owned by boxer Mike Tyson. It has 19 bedrooms and 37 bathrooms. It boasts a gym, billiards rooms, racquetball courts and a disco with stripper poles. The New York City rapper bought it for $4.1 million and spent $6 million on renovations and repairs. The home was for sale for nearly two years before being pulled off the market in May. The initial $18.5 million price dropped to $14.5 million late last year. 50 Cent says he's tired of the two hour commute to New York City and wants to downsize.
