I Love You, Man
Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd) is a successful real estate agent who,
upon getting engaged to the woman of his dreams, Zooey (Rashida Jones),
discovers, to his dismay and chagrin, that he has no male friend close enough to
serve as his Best Man. Peter immediately sets out to rectify the situation,
embarking on a series of bizarre and awkward man dates, before meeting Sydney
Fife (Jason Segel), a charming, opinionated man with whom he
instantly bonds. But the closer the two men get, the more Peter's relationship
with Zooey suffers, ultimately forcing him to choose between his fiancee and his
new found bro, in a story that comically explores what it truly means to be a
friend.

Twilight
Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit
different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix
high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father
in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of
anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful
Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met.
Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that
they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees
straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling
and unorthodox romance. To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for, a
soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the
primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy.
But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires come to town and
threaten to disrupt their way of life?
The Buzz..
Twilight
director Catherine Hardwicke may soon be working with more
superhuman teens. Hardwicke is close to signing on as director of Maximum
Ride. The movie would adopt mystery writer James Patterson's
young adult series, which follows Max Ride and his fellow human bird hybrids as
they escape their laboratory home and the evil half human, half wolf Erasers.
Former Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum is returning to TV
in a comedy pilot at NBC. Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor on Smallville for
seven seasons, has been cast in the Peacock's Justin Adler comedy about adult
siblings. Nick D'Agosto who played flyboy West on Heroes last
season is joining him.
The Autobots and Decepticons will battle it out again, this time over
Independence Day weekend in 2011. Paramount has given Transformers 3 a
coveted July 1 release date for that year, despite the lack of director, script
or signed stars. Despite opening the weekend after July 4, the first installment
pulled in more than $70 million. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
won't be waiting for the fireworks: It hits theaters on June 24 this year.
Marvel's Thor meanwhile, will move to May 20, 2011. The movie was
pushed back a year from its original 2010 spot.
Danny Masterson
and Bijou Phillips, who have costarred in multiple films, will
embark on another, more personal collaboration. The Hollywood couple got
engaged. The 33 year old Masterson, best known for playing Hyde on That '70s
Show, and Phillips, 28, met in 2004 at a Las Vegas poker tournament. Phillips
had just gotten out of a long-term relationship with Sean Lennon.
Sci Fi Channel is giving itself a makeover. The NBC owned cable
network will change its name to Syfy in the summer. And yes, despite the
goofy spelling, it will sound phonetically the same. The reasons for the name
change are twofold. Firstly, it allows the network to demonstrate that it should
not be so narrowly defined. Already the Sci Fi channel has been known to program
content that isn't strictly science fiction proper such as fantasy, paranormal,
mystery, action and adventure. The new Syfy will continue with this diverse
programming.
Gossip Girl and The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz
decided to just skip some of the drama in favor of more music on the new web
series, Rockville, CA. The six-part show features a group of young people
who meet at Club Rockville to hear bands on the verge of greatness. The show
that will feature music from such bands as Nico Stai, The
Kooks, and The Republic Tigers centers around Deb (Alexandra
Chando), a Wall to Wall Records talent scout, and Hunter (Andrew
West) the resident music geek.
Stock up on paper clips and bubble gum: MacGyver is back. The television
show, which followed action scientist MacGyver from 1985-1992, is headed to the
big screen. While the show sometimes delved into camp with its hero's ability to
use found items to get into and out of danger, the movie from New Line is
rumored to hew closer to its action roots. Rafaella De
Laurentiis, daughter of prolific producer Dino De Laurentiis, will produce.
Warner Bros is looking to bring Stephen King's It
to the big screen. The project follows a group of kids in what they call the
Losers Club. They encounter a creature called It that preys on children and
often morphs into a sadistic clown. When the creature resurfaces, the kids are
called upon to regroup again, this time as adults, even though they have no
memory of the first battle.
