In the 1960s a group of 8 rogue DJs on a boat in the middle of the Northern
Atlantic, played rock records and broke the law all for the love of music. The
songs they played united and defined an entire generation and drove the British
government crazy. By playing rock 'n roll they were standing up against the
British government who did everything in their power to shut them down.

Up
By tying thousands of balloons to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets
out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after
lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, a
wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on
the trip. Together, they embark in an adventure, where they encounter talking
dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin.
The Buzz...
The dramatic expansion of the best picture category at the Oscars may
benefit films such as Up, the latest Pixar animation. Since the
best animated feature category was first created for films of 2001, no animated
film has been nominated as best picture. With the Oscars doubling the main
category to 10 titles for films of 2009, Up is a strong contender as best
picture. It is also considered the leader in the best animated feature category.
Eminem is hoping to further his movie career. He is set to produce and
star in a 3D horror film. The Stan rapper has enlisted writers Dallas
Jackson and Kevin Grevioux to help him work on Shady
Talez. As well as appearing in and producing the picture, Eminem is also
planning to release the project as a series of four comic books next year. The
rapper starred in 2002 hip-hop drama film 8 Mile.
Taylor Swift took aim at ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and
poked fun at rumours she's now dating Taylor Lautner during her
guest hosting stint on U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live. The Love
Story hitmaker took over presenting duties at the weekend and used her
opening musical number to laugh about her break-up with the middle Jonas
Brother, who famously dumped her in a brief phone call last year. In a skit
titled Monologue Song (La La La), she sang, "You might think I bring up Joe, the
guy who broke up with me on the phone, but I'm not gonna mention that in my
monologue..." Swift then sent a personal message to the Love Bug singer,
quipping, "Hey Joe, I'm doing real well!" The 19 year old star went on to
address rumours linking her to Twilight hunk Lautner, fuelling romance
reports by winking and blowing a kiss into the camera for him. She said, "And if
you're wondering if I might be dating the werewolf from Twilight - 'Hi Taylor' -
but I'm not gonna mention that in my monologue."
Jennifer Lopez has turned up the heat on her ex-husband's plans to
release a satirical documentary about their short lived marriage. She is suing
him for $10 million in damages.
The Spears family is in the midst of planning another wedding. Britney
has approached her parents to ask for their consent to wed her agent, Jason
Trawick. The pop superstar has been romantically linked to Trawick for
months, but has refused to comment about her relationship with the businessman,
but now sources claim she's planning a third wedding.
Late Show bandleader Paul Shaffer says his
friendship with convicted murderer Phil Spector has not wavered in
the wake of the music producer's incarceration. The late night TV sidekick said
that he even plans to visit Spector in prison as soon as he gets the chance,
noting they've been friends for 20 years.
A reality show miniseries about the Jackson family will premiere Dec. 13 on
A&E. Back to back hour episodes will air that night at 9 p.m. EST. The
Jacksons: A Family Dynasty focuses on brothers Jackie, Jermaine,
Tito and Marlon as they prepare to reunite for a concert tour. It
also chronicles their lives as they cope with Michael's drug induced
death in June. There will be six episodes, the network said.
Verne Troyer's troubles are far from over - the tiny star has been hit
with a huge tax bill just days after he was accused of harassing his
ex-girlfriend. Troyer's former lover, Yvette Monet, was granted a
temporary restraining order against the actor this week after she alleged he had
bombarded her with abusive phone calls.
Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James has issued a
plea to his ex, urging her to leave his famous wife out of their ongoing custody
battle. Janine Lindemulder is currently fighting her former
husband James over custody of their five year old daughter Sunny. The youngster
was handed over to James and his current wife Bullock when tax evasion charges
landed porn star Lindemulder behind bars for six months.
Dethroned former Miss California Carrie Prejean is at the centre
of a new scandal following reports she's the star of a new sex tape. The blonde
beauty was stripped of her crown earlier this year after candid shots of her
posing on a beach hit the Internet.
On-air promos for a sexual threesome on an upcoming episode of Gossip
Girl have spurred the Parents Television Council to ask affiliates of the
CW network to pre-empt the show.
Slash got a lot of his friends to play on his upcoming solo album, but
not everyone he asked said yes. Flea, Alice Cooper and
Dave Grohl are among the artists who are reportedly set to appear on
next year's Slash and Friends album, but the guitarist recently told
MusicRadar.com that he asked Jack White to sing on the record, but
was turned down. He said White did offer to play on the record but just wasn't
comfortable with lending his voice to the project.
Green Day have made their New Year's Eve plans. The band will ring
in 2010 with Carson Daly. They'll perform on his annual NBC
special, which will air live from Times Square.
Justin Timberlake is attached to the forthcoming Yogi
Bear movie. JT will star alongside Anna Faris and Dan
Aykroyd in the live action CG animated production.
DJ AMs bachelor pad is up for sale. The four bedroom, 3300 square
foot home in Beverly Hills has been put on the market by the late DJs estate
for a whopping $3.8 million dollars.
