The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Following Bella Swan's (Kristen Stewart) ill fated 18th birthday
party, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the
town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent
in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of
high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward's image comes to her whenever
she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to
take greater and greater risks. When a chance encounter brings Bella face to
face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally
large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it
frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the
clock, Bella learns the secret of the Quileutes and Edward's true motivation for
leaving her. She also faces the prospect of a potentially deadly reunion with
her beloved that is a far cry from the one she'd hoped for.

Star Trek
In director J.J. Abrams' bold re-imagining of the popular sci-fi
adventure franchise, the fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals.
One, James Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill seeking Iowa
farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic
based society that rejects all emotion. But together, with the young crew of the
U.S.S. Enterprise, they must find a way to stop an evil being (Eric
Bana) whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind. As fiery instinct
clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only
thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going
where no one has gone before.
The Buzz...
The film 2012 gives visions of doom, but its future looks rosy on cable.
FX obtained the rights to the TV series based on Roland Emmerich's
movie, which made $65 million at the domestic box office this past weekend. The
series will take place around 2013, so huge spoiler for the movie there: The
world doesn't actually end in 2012. FX also obtained the basic cable network
rights to 2012, to air at the beginning of that same year. The network also
nabbed the rights to the Sony horror comedy Zombieland.
The popular My Little Pony toys will be the first Hasbro property
that will get the TV series treatment on a new upcoming kids cable channel
that's a joint venture between Hasbro and Discovery. The My Little Pony toys
originated in 1983 and consisted of colorful plastic ponies that had specific
marking of cute things on their hindquarters, much like what Care
Bears displayed on their bellies.
There are 30 nude photos and eight sex tapes of former Miss California
Carrie Prejean. Its the most shocking turn yet in a scandal that
has continued to follow the woman whose anti-gay marriage stance led to a
national controversy and pitted her against pageant organizers. Stripped of her
crown, Prejean sued the Miss California USA pageant but reportedly settled after
the sex tape surfaced. She called the sex tape the biggest mistake of her life.
Gene Simmons is about to begin selling replicas of his signature
axe shaped bass. Each of the instruments, which are billed as identical to the
one Gene plans on stage, is carved from a single piece of wood. They're all
hand-numbered and signed by the KISS bassist himself, and come with an
autographed leather case bearing the image of Gene's face. Simmons reps refer to
the instrument as a gift to his fans. Of course, it's a pricey gift, and one
that you'll have to pay for yourself, to the tune of $5,000.
Activision's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been recalled in Russia
due to its controversial airport massacre scene. In an early level of the game,
players join gunmen in a Russian airport as they open fire on a terrified group
of civilians. The sequence is completely optional in the main campaign and comes
with a full warning beforehand about its potential to offend.
Kara DioGaurdi has revealed that she hopes to spend time with
Ellen DeGeneres before the new season of Idol starts, because
chemistry between the judges is crucial to the show being a success.
X Factor singer Jamie Archer has confirmed that he is in a
relationship with Kandy Rain's Coco Lloyd. The 34 year old, who
announced that he had a crush on Lloyd at the start of the live shows, said that
he is looking forward to spending more time with the ex-stripper now that he's
been voted off the ITV series.
Harmonix and MTV Games have revealed plans to launch a new
song by rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures on Rock Band.
The group, including Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl,
Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Josh Homme and Led
Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones, formed in Los
Angeles earlier in the year. On November 17, their first single New
Fang will become available for Xbox 360 versions of Rock Band
and Lego Rock Band, priced at 160 Microsoft Points.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have created their own
jewelry line. The Hollywood couple have reportedly designed a limited edition
gold and silver capsule collection called The Protector for
Asprey. The line reportedly features silver baby gifts, as well as pendants
and rings with a curving snake motif.
Sunday night's NFL showdown between the Patriots and Colts
had been touted as the Game of the Year for weeks and that was before the Colts
stunned the Patriots with a 4th quarter comeback. It's not a surprise, then,
that NBC's broadcast of the game helped the network rout the Sunday
competition. Among adults 18-49, NBC averaged a 6.0 rating.
Courteney Cox will reprise her role in Scream 4. Also
joining the Cougar Town star, 45, on-set: husband David
Arquette, whom she met while filming the first Scream film in 1996, and
Neve Campbell, whose character, Sidney Prescott, was terrorized. The
list of original cast members pretty much stops there, Cox admits.
New Moon has become the top advanced ticket seller ever on
Fandango. Twilight was able to make it to the 5 spot. The Dark
Knight was 4, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince rested at 3, and
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith holds the number two spot.
George Segal is returning to the small screen in a starring role
on TV Land's halfhour pilot, Retired at 35. The story follows a
successful young businessman who decides to leave the New York fast lane and
move into his father's Florida retirement home. Don't look for Segal's
character, the father, to be sitting around playing Canasta, though. He'll play
a former insurance executive who's all about partying and having fun.
Johnny Depp may help bail actor Nicolas Cage out of
his growing financial problems. Cage has already had two of his homes go into
foreclosure, and owes $6 million in back taxes and he's currently suing his
former business manager for $20 million claiming he sent "him down a path toward
financial ruin." Depp has contacted Cage and told him not to worry, that he'll
sort everything out. Depp feels like he owes his career to Cage in a way since
Cage reportedly recommended Depp to his agent back when Depp was a struggling
musician. Cage's recommendation led to Depp nabbing a role in the original
Nightmare on Elm Street.
DJ AMs extensive shoe collection is to be auctioned off this Sunday on
eBay. More than 800 pairs of sneakers owned by the late Adam Goldstein
will go on the block beginning at 4:30 pm PST on Sunday. The collection is said
to include both worn and unworn rare, retro and limited-edition shoes by Nike,
Adidas, Converse, Reebok and BAPE sneakers.
Best Buy is teaming up with Dr. Dres headphone line
Beats and Monster Cable and to launch a new DJ oriented department
in its stores. The big box retail chain is making space for a new section called
Club Beats, which will allow customers to try out everything from
related music and video to the latest technology products including DJ
equipment, mixing software, turntables, headphones and laptops.
