Dear John
Dear John tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young
soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the
idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation.
Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John’s
increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay
in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas, correspondence
that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

Zombieland
In a world overrun by flesh devouring zombies, Woody Harrelson and
Jesse Eisenberg have managed to stay alive. Columbus is a nerdy
college student who has survived because he's scared of just about everything.
Tallahassee is an gun totin' zombie slayer with no fear, whose single
determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with
Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie
mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or
succumbing to the zombie plague.
The Buzz...
James Cameron's blockbuster Avatar will vie for Best
Picture opposite The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds,
Precious, Up, Up in the Air, A Serious Man,
An Education, and, in two surprises, The Blind Side and
District 9. Avatar and The Hurt Locker tied with the most overall
nominations, nine. Inglourious Basterds and Precious notched six each.
Greg Kinnear, Alan Arkin and Billy Crudup
have all signed up for the indie crime drama The Convincer. The
script, co-written by Jill and Karen Sprecher, sees a desperate insurance
salesman plotting to end his troubles by getting hold of a rare violin. But his
plan leads to some difficult consequences.
Actress Leven Rambin is set to become the latest member of the
Grey's Anatomy cast to wed after becoming engaged to her boyfriend. Geoff
Clark proposed to the TV star recently and the pretty teenager said yes.
It is not known if Rambin, who plays Sloan Reilly in the medical
drama series, will be a married woman by the time she turns 20 in May.
Miley Cyrus has joked that she wants to dress as Jersey
Shore star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi this Halloween. The Hannah
Montana star was interviewed by Snooki, who rose to fame on the MTV
reality show, on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. "I watch
[Jersey Shore] all the time. It's my favourite show. I'm gonna be you for
Halloween, I'm doing the poof and everything," said Cyrus. "
Parks and Recreation will stage a mini Saturday Night Live Reunion
when Andy Samberg visits Amy Poehler's show. Samberg is set
to film his guest spot on Parks and Rec next week (SNL will be off for the
Winter Olympics). He'll be playing a character named Carl, the head
of security for Pawnee's parks, who clashes with Leslie (Poehler) after a
resident is accosted on his watch.
Ozzy Osbourne is currently putting the wrap on his next solo
album, and though rumors surfaced online that the album would be called Soul
Sucka, that is not true. "When we put that on the Internet none of my fan
base liked the title." The record is due out in July, which is the same month
Osbourne says that Ozzfest will return after a one year hiatus. As most
fans know, this also will be Ozzy's first album without Zakk Wylde
since the guitarist joined his band in 1988.
Simon Cowell’s all star remake of R.E.M.’s Everybody
Hurts just premiered on UK radio. The American Idol judge took a break from
crushing dreams to unite Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus
and Leona Lewis, among others, to re-record the classic. The
remake, which has received lukewarm reviews, will be available for download Feb
7th. All proceeds will go to the people of Haiti.
Over 75 of the music industry’s biggest stars came together in L.A. to remake
the 1985 hit We Are The World. Wyclef Jean, Jamie
Foxx, Snoop Dogg all arrived at Henson Studio on Monday to
sing the song. Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z,
Justin Bieber and Eminem are among the long list of
musicians and actors who participated in the recording session.
Hollywood’s most feared awards show has announced its nominations. The

Leading the pack this year is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with a
whopping seven nominations including Worst Picture, Worst
Director (Michael Bay), Worst Screenplay,
Worst Actress (Megan Fox) and Worst Screen
Couple. Also with seven nominations is Will Ferrell’s
Land of the Lost, which earned nominations such as Worst Actor,
Worst Picture and Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel. Other
nominees include Eddie Murphy and John Travolta for
Worst Actor of the Decade, Beyoncé for Worst Actress
in Obsessed and Sandra Bullock for Worst Actress
in All About Steve.
Kristen Bell is now off the market. The When In Rome
star announced her engagement to fiancée comedian Dax Shepard
over the weekend. Kristen was also a part of the Grammys Sunday night,
where she was a presenter with her When In Rome co-star Josh Duhamel.
