Rango
Johnny Depp stars in an animated comedy
about a chameleon who faces an identity crisis when he
finds himself in the wild west. Rango is a sheltered
chameleon living as an ordinary family pet facing a
major identity crisis. After all, how high can you aim
when your whole purpose in life is to blend in? When
Rango accidentally winds up in the gritty, gun slinging
town of Dirt, a lawless outpost populated by the
desert's most wily and whimsical creatures, the less
than courageous lizard suddenly finds he stands out.
Welcomed as the last hope the town has been waiting for,
new Sheriff Rango is forced to play his new role to the
hilt, until he starts to become the hero he once only
pretended to be.

127 Hours
Danny Boyle, the acclaimed director of Slumdog Millionaire, presents an
extraordinary, enthralling true story of hope, survival and severed limbs.
James Franco gives a stirring, Oscar nominated performance as
Aron Ralston, the gutsy outdoorsman who found himself trapped
under a boulder while hiking alone in a Utah canyon. As hours turn into days,
Aron embarks on a personal journey in which he relies on the memories of family
and friends, as well as his own courage and ingenuity, to turn adversity into
triumph. With time running out, his only chance to stay alive is to amputate his
own arm.
The Buzz...
A 3-D version of the Star Wars: Episode I will hit theaters next year.
Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox say that The Phantom Menace in
3-D will arrive in theaters on Feb. 10, 2012. That's around the same time of
year that the Special Edition version of the first Star Wars trilogy was
rereleased in 1997. Unlike the Special Editions, which were all released within
a two month period, the 3-D versions of the franchise won't come out quite as
quickly. There are plans to release all six movies in 3-D, and if The Phantom
Menace does well next year, the other five will come out annually at roughly the
same time on the calendar.
When talk first bubbled up that CBS is eying John Stamos as
a possible replacement for Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men,
Uncle Jesse politely denied the rumors on Twitter. But in his
acknowledgment of the story, he also took a bit of a jab at Sheen, saying, "Martin
Sheen has asked me to be his son." Clearly, a joke. But Charlie was not
cool with this, telling Access Hollywood, Stamos doesn't have what
Sheen "has" and that the show would "suck." Because nobody can be both winning
and hating on John Stamos, Sheen is now backpedaling on his comments. "I was out
of line and you're a beautiful man, and a talented man," Sheen said in front of
KTLA cameras, "and if you get the gig, we should talk."
Here's a great way to celebrate your Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday May 28th
Godsmack will be headlining 93X Fest 2011 at Midway
Stadium in St. Paul Minnesota. Other bands include Black Label
Society, Queensryche, Puddle of Mudd,
Hollywood Undead and more.
It looks like the Kents are just about cast for the rebooted Superman: The
Man Of Steel. British actor Henry Cavill is headlining, and
now the role of Mama Kent, Martha, has been cast. It’s non other than Oscar
nominated actress Diane Lane. There’s also a little rumour
Nicolas Cage is in talks for a role in the movie, and speculation
suggests its for the role of Papa Kent.
Welcome Back, Kotter will receive the 35th Anniversary Award at the 2011
TV Land Awards, which tape April 10 and air April 17. John
Travolta will reunite with his fellow cast members to accept the honor. As
of now, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington), Ron
Palillo (Arnold Horshack) and Marcia Strassman (Mr.
Kotter’s wife, Julie) are confirmed to join Vinnie Barbarino.
Spike TV is teaming with Taiwanese viral sensation Nma to produce
Charlie Sheen’s Winningest Moments; a half hour animated
special chronicling the most outlandish moments in modern Sheen history. The
special will count down about a dozen of Sheen’s most scandalous headlines and
will be hosted by two female characters dubbed The Goddesses.
While on tour with in Australia with his band Sum 41, Deryck
Whibley has reportedly been hospitalized due to a severe case of
pneumonia. The Ajax native is being treated in a Sydney hospital and has been
forced to postpone tour dates with his band.
The selection of James Franco and Anne Hathaway to
host this year’s Oscars telecast was a mistake, a high ranking member of
the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has acknowledged.
Julianne Hough is in final negotiations to join Adam Shankman’s
Rock of Ages, but the director tweeted that it’s a done deal: “Yes, it’s
true. Julianne Hough was beyond brilliant in her audition, and will be rocking
the role of Sherrie Christian in the rock of ages movie.” Her spokesperson
confirms a Variety report that she’s close to signing on to play Sherrie, the
small town Kansas girl who comes to Hollywood to make it big. Tom Cruise will
play the callous rock star who she falls for.
The Man of Mystery succeeded: Mike Myers wed longtime girlfriend
Kelly Tisdale last fall, and it is just making headlines now. The Austin
Powers star, 47, and Tisdale "were married in a private ceremony and
celebrated with family and friends."
Amanda Seyfried has said that there will be no sequel to 2008's
Mamma Mia!. The actress, who starred in the hit musical adaptation
with Meryl Streep, Dominic Cooper, Colin
Firth and Pierce Brosnan, told Marie Clare that
there would be no room to develop the story, despite her initial keenness to
revisit her role of Sophie.
