How To Train Your Dragon
As an ancient threat endangers both Vikings and dragons alike on the isle of
Berk, the friendship between Hiccup, an inventive Viking, and Toothless, a Night
Fury dragon, becomes the key to both species forging a new future together. The
long awaited live action adaptation of the beloved animated classic How to Train
Your Dragon exceeds all expectations. Directed once again by Dean
DeBlois and powered by John Powell's unforgettable score, the
film stays about 95% true to the original story: a young Viking who forms an
unlikely bond with the very creature his people are sworn to destroy.

Stick (AppleTV+)
An over the hill ex-golfer, fired from his job, sees
hope in coaching a troubled teen prodigy after his wife
leaves him, staking his future on the youth's success.
Owen Wilson brings his usual charm but
dials it into something more grounded and broken (but
with redeeming qualities). It's got that Ted Lasso vibe;
funny, warm, and full of potential without ever feeling
forced. The setup is solid, the tone lands well, and
there's a good balance of heart and humour. The young
golf prodigy is a standout, and even early on, the
characters feel layered with room to grow.

Dept. Q (Netflix)
DCI Carl Morck is a brilliant cop but a terrible
colleague. His razor sharp sarcasm has made him no
friends in Edinburgh police. After a shooting that
leaves a young pc dead, and his partner paralysed, he
finds himself exiled to the basement and the sole member
of Department Q; a newly formed cold case unit. The
department is a PR stunt, there to distract the public
from the failures of an under resourced, failing police
force that is glad to see the back of him. But more by
accident than design, Carl starts to build a gang of
waifs and strays who have everything to prove. So, when
the stone cold trail of a prominent civil servant who
disappeared several years ago starts to heat up, Carl is
back doing what he does best - rattling cages and
refusing to take no for an answer.
