Mercy
In the near future, a detective (Chris Pratt) stands on trial
accused of murdering his wife. He has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to the
advanced A.I. Judge he once championed, before it determines his fate. Mercy is
a sci-fi crime thriller starring Chris Pratt as Detective Chris Raven, who is
accused of murdering his wife in a near future Los Angeles where an advanced A.I.
named "Maddox" (Rebecca Ferguson) acts as judge, jury, and
executioner. Raven has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to the same A.I. system
he once championed, or face immediate execution. The story acts as a real-time
thriller where Raven must navigate the AI's strict, data-driven, and emotionless
justice system.

The Rip (Netflix)
Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash
house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray.
As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure,
everything is called into question, including who they
can rely on. Leveraging Ben Affleck and
Matt Damon's classic chemistry to texturize a
friendship tested by greed, The Rip tears into its
potboiler setup with compulsively watchable confidence.
It's a very solid film with a fast pace, strong
performances, and confident execution.
