The 2026 crime thriller film By Any Means follows a young Black FBI agent and a notorious mafia hitman who team up to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in 1960s Mississippi. A young Black FBI agent (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is sent down south during a wave of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders. He is forced to work alongside Scarpa (played by Mark Wahlberg). Together, they navigate a dangerous hunt where the boundaries between justice and vengeance begin to dissolve.

Isolde is there to close a major land development deal for a resort. Ry meets Julián García (Fernando Lindez), a brooding local fisherman whose traditional livelihood is threatened by the very tourism and development her mother represents. Ry lives with severe chronic illnesses, specifically epilepsy and tuberous sclerosis. As she falls for Julián, she starts skipping her medication, and her worsening health long with long-hidden family secrets threatens their romance.

What starts as a local crime quickly pulls the duo into a massive, dark mystery involving alien activity and the robotic Manhunters. The show plays out like a gritty "buddy cop" detective story, with Hal reluctantly taking John on as an apprentice rather than a true partner.
