Jesse Eisenberg is Nick, a small town
pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the
big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds. The
volatile duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank.
With mere hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick
enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet. As the
clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired
assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous
relationship.
On DVD
Paul
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost star as a pair of sci-fi geeks who
make a close encounter on an insane road trip to America's UFO heartland. For
the past 60 years, an alien named Paul has been hanging out at a top secret
military base. For reasons unknown, the space traveling smartass decides to
escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town; a rented RV
containing Earthlings Graeme and Clive, who hatch a fumbling escape plan to
return Paul to his mother ship. As two nerds struggle to help, one little green
man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.
The Buzz...
Ben Flajnik was denied Bachelorette Ashley Hebert's
final rose, but he's still getting some Love... Jennifer Love Hewitt,
that is. During the season finale, Hewitt tweeted about her crush on
Flajnik, writing, "Omg! Ben f except my final rose !!! I love that ring. Neil
lane u rock!! Happy for Ashley.... Gotta book a flight to Sonoma !!!:):) Let's
get Ben f to be a lovely! Do I can give him twugs and twisses!!!:)" Her public
display of affection paid off. Us Weekly reports that Hewitt and
Flajnik went on a date in San Francisco just four days later. Flajnik arrived
with San Francisco Giants player Cody Ross,
but sat with Hewitt.
A certain site, which we won't name because they're lame and don't deserve the
attention, has been terrifying fans for years by falsely reporting the deaths of
favorite celebrities. The latest victim of these death hoaxes is former
Disney starlet Hilary Duff. Fans on Twitter were sent into a
panic over the weekend when a site reported that Duff died by falling from the
Kauri Cliffs at a luxury golf resort in New Zealand. The site has previously
reported that Christian Slater and Will Smith also
died on the cliffs. Apparently, they have special reincarnation powers, as Duff,
Slater, and Smith are all alive and well.
YouTube sensation Rebecca Black, who's become something of
a legitimate celebrity of late, is opening up about the abuse she's endured
since her Friday video made her famous in March. "When I walk by they'll start
singing 'Friday' in a really nasally voice," she tells ABC News.
"Or, you know, they'll be like, 'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'" Not
anymore, apparently. Black's mother pulled her from her Anaheim, CA, high school
after bullying became too much this past spring. She's now home schooled. "I've
had a lot of experience with not being liked and all that," she tells ABC News.
"I think if I hadn't had to deal with that in the past then I totally would have
handled this differently and I would have gone down in burning flames. But I've
learned that you just can't let it get to you."
According to TV Guide, Ashton Kutcher will earn
$700,000 an episode this coming season on Two and a Half Men.
According to TMZ, he'll make even more, as much as $900,000. Either way,
he's at the top of the salary heap for primetime actors, towering over
Mariska Hargitay, Jon Hamm, Mark Harmon,
Tina Fey, every single Glee kid, every single Office
staffer and Mr. Tom Selleck.
After just two seasons in the late night game, TBS announced today that
it is pulling the plug on Lopez Tonight and will not be ordering
up a third season. That edict, incidentally, is effective immediately. As in, it
could not get any more immediate. A spokesman for the cable net announced that
tomorrow night's episode will be Lopez's last.
Tyler Perry has been saying for years that he wants to launch his
own network. Now he may be on the verge of starting an Oprah Winfrey
style channel with the backing of Lionsgate. "Tyler is one of those rare
resources that one could launch a channel with," said Lionsgate CEO Jon
Feltheimer.
Eddie Murphy has been cast as the voice of Hong Kong
Phooey in a big screen version of Hanna Barbera's animated
TV series. Directed by Alex Zamm, the film will mix live action
with animation. Already well known as the voice of Donkey in the Shrek
series of films, Murphy will play Penry, a mild mannered dog who accidentally
gains mystical powers. Transforming into Hong Kong Phooey, he fights crime with
the help of a feline sidekick called Spot.
AC/DC lead singer and budding race car driver, Brian Johnson,
will co-drive in the 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona
International Speedway. The 63 year old plans to drive for
Predator Performance in a Riley prototype car. Johnson will
co-drive with Chattanooga businessman Byron DeFoor, who owns and
races numerous high horsepower Can-Am and BMW GT cars. They will be joined by
two to three professionals at the Rolex 24.
