Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Robert Downey Jr. is back on the case as London's
greatest detective, investigating the evil plot a new
criminal mastermind. Sherlock Holmes has always been the
smartest man in the room, until now. There is a new
criminal mastermind at large, Professor Moriarty, and
not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his
capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of
conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the
renowned detective. Holmes' investigation into
Moriarty's plot becomes ever more dangerous as it leads
him and Watson out of London and across Europe, to
France, Germany and finally to Switzerland. But the
cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead as he spins a
web of death and destruction; all part of a greater plan
that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Rise of the Apes is a completely new take on one of 20th Century Fox's
most beloved and successful franchises. Oscar winning visual effects
house Weta Digital, employing certain of the groundbreaking
technologies developed for Avatar, renders for the first time ever in the film
series, photo realistic apes rather than costumed actors. Rise of the Apes is an
origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco,
the film is a reality based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact
blend, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the
development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
The Buzz...
The Glee cast may still publicly fawn over Ryan Murphy, but
it appears that privately, the Glee creator could have turned into a bit of a
menace. According to a new report in Us Weekly, Murphy has gone
from a hero, plucking talented unknowns from obscurity, to a major bully.
"Things are really bad on set. The cast talks about how much they love Ryan, but
they have grown to hate him," a source tells Us. Another adds, "He has bad mood
swings and can be really mean." The mood swing thing isn't too unbelievable of a
claim, considering Murphy has been a very public flip-flopper, saying one day
that there won't be any famous guest stars in Season 3, then later bringing on
Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and Pitbull.
Celebs turned out for the annual Z100 Jingle Ball Concert at New
York's Madison Square Garden. Donald Trump,
Abigail Breslin and Khloe Kardashian were on hand,
along with 17,500 other revelers, to see performances by Lady Gaga,
LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes, Kelly Clarkson,
Pitbull and more.
Pregnant singer and fashion designer Jessica Simpson has just
signed a deal worth $3M to be a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.
The blonde bombshell, whose weight has been scrutinized in the last few years,
reportedly fielded several offers from a number of other weight loss companies.
A source says, "The deal is in place, and after having her baby, she'll start
with Weight Watchers to lose her baby weight."
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may not be able to
share a kiss at midnight on New Year’s Eve. They’ll both be in NYC, but
performing on different networks. Gomez will take the stage for MTV’s Nye
in NYC 2012, along with Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo,
Mac Miller, and J. Cole. Bieber is one of the performers on
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012,
as well as Lady Gaga, Pitbull, and Hot Chelle
Rae.
Law enforcement must've struck a chord with Jennifer Beals,
because the Chicago Code vet has signed on for a two episode arc
as a CIA operative on ABC's Castle. The Flashdance star
will appear as Sophia Conrad, a woman from Castle's past, as she helps Castle
and Beckett search for a rogue CIA agent turned suspect in Castle and Beckett's
latest murder Obviously, things will get complicated once we learn that Sophia
and Rick have history together. Could this be yet another hiccup preventing our
favorite author detective team from getting together? We'll have to wait until
February sweeps, when the episodes is scheduled to air, to find out.
Lisa Rinna is getting back in touch with her roots. The reality TV
staple is heading back to her old gig as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives,
according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rinna has inked a contract to return
to the role she originated in 1992 for a very secretive story arc.
It's really a wonder Disney hasn't done this before, considering the vast
amount of money they make selling very tiny sizes of their princess costumes.
They've just announced a new series and movie for Disney Junior
and the Disney Channel. Sofia the First, is
their youngest princess yet. All their other princesses are adults or teens.
This one is a little girl who starts off life in the usual way. Everything
changes when her mom marries the king. She lands in a castle with fancy clothes,
a step brother and step sister and animal friends.
Turns out, Ashton Kutcher and Charlie Sheen have
more in common than we thought. In addition to that whole sitcom thing, both
have suffered by their own hands this year after forgetting the cardinal rule of
social media: think before you tweet! As it happens, Sheen neglected to do that
over the weekend and once again turned himself into a cautionary celebrity tale.
While attempting to send a private direct message to Justin Bieber
(of all people), the once and future TV star accidentally tweeted out his
personal phone number to each and every one of his 5.5 million followers.
Actress Blake Lively has designed her own cupcake for charity. The
Gossip Girl star was spotted at a Sprinkles Cupcakes
store in New York on Friday, creating a sweet treat, which will be sold to raise
charity cash. An eyewitness tells Life & Style magazine, "She came in with
girlfriends to create it. Blake helped design and add her own touches to it."
It's a S'mores cupcake. It features a Graham cracker bottom, deep gooey
chocolate, and a S'mores-like burned-marshmallowy top." Lively's cupcake will
make its debut in January and all proceeds will benefit Oxfam International
Somalia.
Actor and model Sean Faris has replaced Kevin Zegers
in the Bonnie & Clyde movie remake. Faris will portray bankrobber
Clyde Barrow opposite Lindsay Pulsipher in Tonya
Holly's film The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. Warren Beatty
and Faye Dunaway played the leads in the 1967 film and Zegers and
Hilary Duff were billed to play the loved-up criminals in the
remake. Both have since exited the project.
Mary Tyler Moore fans, here’s a reason to get excited: Lou
Grant and Sue Ann Nivens are reuniting! Mary Tyler
Moore co-stars Betty White and Ed Asner will appear
in an episode of TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland that’s slated to air in the
sitcom’s batch of new episodes next summer. The half-hour will shoot in
February. Cleveland’s third season recently premiered, on Nov. 30.
Ruby fans, you’re not going to be very “hacky” about this announcement:
The Style network has confirmed that it has “no plans” to order a fifth
season of the reality show, which chronicled the weight loss trials of
charismatic Savannah resident Ruby Gettinger.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has officially beaten the quickest to a
billion dollars record that was previously set by Avatar. James
Cameron’s operatic Fern Gully remake took 17 days to hit that landmark,
Modern Warfare 3 took just 16. That’s an incredible benchmark for the series,
and it’s evidence that the videogame industry has become one of the most
economically vibrant corners of the media marketplace.
