At The Movies

War Horse
Steven Spielberg directs a tale of friendship between a boy and a horse whose fates intertwine over the course of World War I. A friendship begins between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the horse moves through the First World War, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets; British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter.

On DVD

Apollo 18
Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it's the real reason we've never gone back to the moon.

The Buzz...

Is the California Gurl on her way to becoming a single one as well? The rumor mill has been working in overdrive with speculation that things aren't going as smoothly between Katy Perry and Russell Brand as we've been led to believe. Katy and Russell have been having "problems" and that they've been spending "a lot of time apart," including Christmas.

Don't expect Will Smith and his former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costar Janet Hubert to exchange Christmas presents any time soon. She wouldn't even come to the recent reunion! Hubert, who played the series' Aunt Vivian Banks from 1990 through 1993, was noticeably absent from the cast photo released last week because of her longtime ill will toward Smith. "There will never be a reunion," she told TMZ, "as I will never do anything with an a--hole like Will Smith." Apparently, Hubert holds Smith responsible for her being replaced in her role by actress Daphne Reid for the final three years of the run.

There must be a pregnancy bug floating around the Victoria's Secret dressing room. Lingerie model Lily Aldridge and her Kings of Leon hubby, Caleb Followill, are expecting their first child together.

Sparks have apparently been flying on the set of the new NBC musical series Smash! A show insider confirms that Debra Messing - who announced Dec. 20 that she was separating from her husband of 10 years, Daniel Zelman - is now dating her Smash costar, Will Chase. Chase, 41, recently separated from his wife, Broadway actress Stephanie Gibson, and the couple are getting divorced, his rep says.

Bambi, Forrest Gump and Hannibal Lecter have at least one thing in common: Their cinematic adventures were chosen by the Library of Congress to be preserved in the world's largest archive of film, TV and sound recordings.

On the heels of news from Vince Neil that the singer is considering leaving Motley Crue after their Las Vegas residency in February, comes word from bassist Nikki Sixx that the Vegas run is "the beginning of what will be the biggest probably four to five years of the band's career." "We're negotiating with a couple of other extremely huge bands on doing a co-headline tour, something that's never happened before. There's new music in the future," Sixx said. "The other thing to look at is the wheels are in motion for getting the Mötley Crüe movie made now," says Nikki. "We finally got everything in order the way it needs to be done, and that's gonna happen."

Just because The Doctor's companions are saying farewell, that doesn't mean Doctor Who's titular character will be going through a regeneration anytime soon. Following the news that Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, who play companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams, would exit the show after the upcoming season, 11th Doctor Matt Smith set the record straight on whether he'd be following them off the series. "No," he said on The Graham Norton Show's special holiday episode. "I am very happy to stay. I love it and love making the show."

Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler may be ready to walk this way down the aisle for the third time. His girlfriend Erin Brady, 38, flashed a diamond ring on her engagement finger while in Maui during their Christmas vacation, sparking Internet reports that a wedding is in the works.

U2 has come out on top as the highest grossing act of trade publication Pollstar's Worldwide Tours list in 2011. The Irish rockers, who also dominated Billboard Boxscore's tally, are estimated to have earned $231.9m for their 34 date 360 tour since January 1, drawing in a total of 2,387,535 fans throughout the dates.

Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison have slammed Hugh Hefner's ex-fiancée Crystal Harris, calling her "mean". The former Playboy Playmates showed their support for the adult magazine's founder following the news that Harris was attempting to take back their puppy after she gave it to Hefner willingly.

After the stand out success of the Grammy nominated Wasting Light, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters aren't resting on their laurels. The band is already hard at work on a follow-up, as Dave recently posted on the band's website, and it appears whatever comes of those sessions will have been shepherded by none other than Butch Vig, who produced Wasting Light and worked with Grohl on Nirvana's iconic Nevermind.
