Cowboys & Aliens
Daniel Craig stars as a Wild West
gunslinger who leads a fight for survival against a
terror from beyond our world. 1873. Arizona Territory. A
stranger with no memory of his past stumbles into the
hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his
history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one
wrist. What he discovers is that the people of
Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes a
move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron
fisted Colonel Dolarhyde. It's a town that lives in
fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can
scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by
marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking
velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one
by one, these monsters challenge everything the
residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they
rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this
gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where
he's been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give
the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With
the help of the elusive traveler Ella, he pulls together
a posse comprised of former opponents; townsfolk,
Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors, all
in danger of annihilation. United against a common
enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for
survival.

Source Code
Jake Gyllenhaal
stars as a body hopping, time twisted soldier in a deadly race against the
clock. When soldier Captain Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown
man, he discovers he's part of an experimental government program called the
"Source Code" that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the
last eight minutes of his life. Armed with the task of identifying the bomber of
a Chicago commuter train, Colter must re-live the incident over and over again,
gathering clues until he can solve the mystery and prevent an even deadlier
second terrorist attack.
The Buzz...
True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard and actress
Kate Bosworth, who have been quietly dating for the past two years,
are apparently done. The couple broke up recently, leaving Skarsgard free to
flirt at last weekend's Comic-Con parties. "It was very mutual," a source
tells Us Weekly. "And it happened a while ago." Skarsgard, 34, who plays
vampire Eric Northman on the popular HBO show, was once rumored to be cozying up
to True Blood co-star Evan Rachel Wood. Bosworth, 28,
previously dated Orlando Bloom.
The Simpsons will hit another huge milestone this season when it
crosses the 500 episode mark, putting it in an even more rarefied space among
prime time television's longest running series. Episode 500, written by show
veteran Michael Price and scheduled to air Feb. 19, 2012, will be as self aware
as the show usually is. "There's a big town meeting that the Simpsons don't know
about, and when they go in, the town is saying we're going to get rid of the
Simpsons."
Controversy surrounding the upcoming NBC show The Playboy Club
continues hop up as the Parents Television Council has
exhorted NBC affiliates to pull the program. In a letter dated July 25,
PTC President Tim Winter told stations, "[I] urge you ... to
preempt the program in your community" citing concerns over potential salacious
content. The show, which features Amber Heard, Naturi
Naughton and Laura Benanti, focuses on the lives of the famed
Bunnies as well as clientele of the original Playboy Club in 1960s. The Playboy
Club was a nightclub started by Playboy magazine founder Hugh
Hefner in its then headquarters of Chicago.
Four time Grammy winner Taylor Swift can add another trophy to her
already crowded mantle; the Ultimate Choice Award, which
the 2011 Teen Choice Awards are bestowing on this
country cutie in recognition of her "extraordinary contributions to the
entertainment industry." The Ultimate Choice Award is the highest honor at the
Teen Choice Awards. Past recipients include Justin Timberlake,
Britney Spears, Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle
Gellar, Mike Myers and Venus and Serena
Williams.
Now that the launch of Super 8 is behind him, JJ Abrams is
ready to commit to directing Star Trek 2. But there's no way that
he'll be able to make the June 29, 2012 release date that Paramount
carved out for the film. The studio will give that slot to G.I. Joe:
Retaliation, the sequel that will be directed by Jon M. Chu and stars
Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson and Adrianne
Palicki, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing.
Just moments before she was scheduled to appear on Good Day L.A. this
morning, the newly single and regrettably inked Kat Von D stormed out of
the studio. Why? Because they had the nerve to air an officially sanctioned clip
sent into wide release by her own network, TLC, of her getting a tattoo
of Jesse James' name. Make that, of her getting a tattoo of her
ex-fiancé Jesse James' name.
With her engagement to Jay Cutler called off, Kristin
Cavallari fans might not expect the reality star to wear a wedding gown any
time soon. But three days before news broke that she was reportedly dumped by
her NFL beau, 28, Cavallari, 24, was all dressed in white for a magazine
photo shoot. The photos of the former The Hills and Laguna
Beach star depict a glowing bride to be donning an assortment of white
gowns.
Hugh Hefner's break-up with fiancee Crystal Harris is
turning messy as the former couple becomes embroiled in a bitter war of words
over an interview the model gave to radio host Howard Stern. The Playboy mogul
was left heartbroken after the 25 year old model called off their wedding plans
at the last minute in June. But now the split has turned nasty, with Harris
appearing on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday to
mock Hefner's sexual prowess. She told the host that sex with the publishing
boss lasted "like two seconds", before adding, "Then I was just over it. I was
like, 'Ahhh.' I was over it. I just like, walked away. I'm not turned on by Hef,
sorry. He doesn't really take off his clothes. I've never seen Hef naked."
Adele may have topped the charts once again, but the big story was the
posthumous numbers accumulated by late British soul singer Amy
Winehouse. Both the curious and her diehard fans paid their respects by
snapping up her back catalog from record stores over the weekend.
Reality TV star Adrianne Curry was booted out of the Comic-Con
event in San Diego, California over the weekend amid fears her saucy outfit
would offend fans. The model turned up for a signing at the annual movie event
dressed in a barely there PVC outfit based on comic book secret agent Aeon
Flux. But the sexy costume drew the attention of police, who stopped the
star for reasons of public decency before she could enter the Comic-Con event.
50 Cent has vowed to "not put out another album" following a
disagreement with executives at his record label. The In Da Club hitmaker
was busy working on his next musical release until he had a heated exchange with
Interscope chiefs in May, accusing them of "moving in slow motion".
