At The Movies

Bridesmaids
Kristen Wiig is a simple Midwestern girl who takes on the daunting, bizarre task of being her best friend's maid of honor. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.

On DVD

No Strings Attached
Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher star in a comedy about what happens when friends in need do the deed. Emma and Adam are life long pals who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. In order to protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly no strings attached; no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don't fall in love. The question becomes who's going to fall first? And can their friendship survive?

The Buzz...

After a 25 year marriage as one of the nation's leading power couples in Hollywood and politics, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have split up, they say in a joint statement. “This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us," they say. "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together."

Chelsea Handler has a new man in her life! The host of Chelsea Lately has gone public with 54 year old hotelier Andre Balazs, who she has been dating for four months, though they first stepped out together over the weekend in New York. Handler brought her boyfriend (who you may recognize as Uma Thurman's ex) along as she promoted her latest book, Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me at the Boom Boom Room.

Apparently it's not a Party in the U.S.A for Miley Cyrus anymore. Instead of keeping things local, Miley is headed to South America and Australia for her forthcoming Gypsy Heart Tour which is set to kick off on April 27. "I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not," she told Fox News. "Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me."

As long as they're still standing and not voted off, all the celebs on Dancing With the Stars make the same amount each week (the winner makes most, naturally), so when it comes to extracurricular earning, insiders tell me Kirstie Alley is poised to profit most from this experience. "The weight loss business is worth hundreds of millions of dollars," a friend of Kirstie's tells me. "She has already lost 70 lbs dancing and hasn't wasted one minute to capitalize on it." The actress, who recently launched her Organic Liaison Weight Loss System, appeared on QVC a few days ago and sold out in less than 15 minutes.

Al Pacino is getting back to a life of crime. The actor who was twice nominated for the Academy Award for playing mobster Michael Corleone in The Godfather movies, has joined the cast of Gotti: Three Generations. He'll play Gambino crime family underboss Neil Dellacroce.

It’s certainly been a big few days for Chris Hemsworth: The Australian actor is the star of the number one movie in the United States thanks to Thor’s $66 million dollar opening weekend (making it the second biggest opening of the year after last week’s Fast Five) and has been on the receiving end of positive reviews. And now he’s been offered the role of the huntsman in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman.

Fox has announced that after often tense and lengthy negotiations that House has been renewed for an eighth season.

Gossip Girl has been renewed for a fifth season, not all its fashionable characters will be back: Taylor Momsen, who plays Jenny Humphrey, and Jessica Szohr, who plays Vanessa Abrams, will not return as series regulars.

Rumours are circulating that Madonna is ready to launch her 14 year old daughter Lourdes into the music industry. The two have reportedly collaborated on the song It’s So Cool, with Madonna planning to use the track on her next album.
