X-Men: First Class
The story of a young Professor X and Magneto, who use
their extraordinary abilities to prevent nuclear
armageddon. Before mutants had revealed themselves to
the world, and before Charles Xavier (James
McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael
Fassbender) took the names Professor X and Magneto,
they were two young men discovering their powers for the
first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first
the closest of friends, working together with other
Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear
Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them
opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's
Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Drive Angry
Milton (Nicholas Cage), a hardened felon has broken out of hell
for one last chance at redemption. Intent on stopping a vicious cult who
murdered his daughter, he has three days to stop them before they sacrifice her
baby beneath a full moon. He's joined by Piper, a young, sexy waitress who
liberates her ex-boyfriend's cherry red muscle car in order to help Milton. Now,
the two of them are hot on the trail of the deadly leader of the cult, Jonah
King, who believes it is his destiny to use the baby to unleash hell on earth.
But the bloodthirsty cult is the least of Milton's problems. The police are
after him too. And worse, an enigmatic killer known only as "The Accountant" who
has been sent by the Devil to retrieve Milton and deliver him back to hell. With
wicked cunning and hypnotic savagery, the Accountant will relentlessly pursue
Milton at high speed across the country until his mission is accomplished.
Fueled by high octane and pure rage, Milton must use his anger to go beyond all
human limits to avenge his daughter's murder, before his last chance at
redemption is revoked.
The Buzz...
With 16 produced and aired episodes, this past eighth season of the CBS
comedy Two and a Half Men is eligible for a best comedy series Emmy
Award. But the veteran sitcom, which has been the subject of controversy
surrounding now former star Charlie Sheen, won't be in the
running. A source at the show's producer Warner Bros. TV confirmed
that Two and a Half Men was not submitted for best comedy. According to a show
insider, the feeling was that, given the circumstances this past season, Two and
a Half Men should not be submitted for consideration in the best comedy series
category. Production on the show was suspended in January, after one of Sheen's
benders sent him to the hospital.
America’s Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry and Brady
Bunch star Christopher Knight have ended their relationship
and are separating after a five-year marriage, both of which began on reality
television. The couple met on The Surreal Life 4 and their
relationship was chronicled on three seasons of VH1’s My Fair Brady from
2005 to 2008. Florence Henderson, who appeared on the show and
advised them against getting married, offered in 2008 to “counsel their
divorce.”
As ReelzChannel is stepping up its original programming efforts, it has
appointed Matthew Singerman as Svp of programming. Singerman had
been a consultant with the channel since January and assisted in the marketing
and scheduling of The Kennedys miniseries. He previously worked
for five years as Svp of programming at TV Guide Network where he oversaw
all programming airing on the network.
When you think of heavy metal and headbangers, who's the first name that come to
mind? If you said William Shatner, then you're on the same page as
the people behind the Revolver Golden God Awards.
The annual hard rock awards bestowed the Honorary Headbanger Award to Shatner,
who accepted it with grace and humor.
Here's something computer hackers got people rapping about over the holiday
weekend. A group calling itself the Lulz Boat managed to mess with
PBS' website Monday by putting up a fake story claiming Tupac
Shakur was alive and currently residing in New Zealand.
In a few days, Ja Rule will go to prison to begin serving his two
year sentence for weapons charges. He's not worried about the things you'd
expect a prison-bound man to be stressed about, though. Instead, he's scrambling
to make sure that his latest record will be ready to release before he gets
locked up. "I just want to put it out to the world before I go in," he says in a
new video interview, below. "It's funny because, I'm about to go to jail, and my
main concern is to make sure that I get this album done and out there for the
fans." He also took the opportunity to publicly walk away from his feud with
fellow artist 50 Cent, which played out publicly via Twitter. Though he
says the two will never collaborate or get along, the beef has officially been
squashed.
This should make for a fun episode. The Jersey Shore cast
is currently living it up in Florence, Italy, as they film the next season of
the MTV smash hit. Unfortunately, it appears that the rules of the road
have escaped them. Snooki (also known as Nicole Polizzi)
was taken into police custody on Monday after crashing into a police car. TMZ
reports that zero alcohol was involved in the incident, in which Snooki drove
her car into the back of a police car and ended up wedged between the car and a
highway wall. JWoww (also known as Jenni Farley) was in the
car with Snooki at the time and had to climb out the window to exit.
In its first weekend, Hangover Part II scored a magnificent $137.4
million box office take over its first four days making for a very nice morning
after for Warner Bros. The film, which follows the same structure
as its predecessor, picked up momentum over the holiday weekend. Meanwhile
Kung Fu Panda 2 was the one to watch for families. In its opening
weekend, the 3-D film scored $47.8 million from Friday through Sunday, which
didn't quite meet the original film's $60.2 million opening weekend, even with
inflated costs for 3-D tickets.
Metallica's James Hetfield had a homecoming of a different
sort on Friday: James was inducted into his high school's hall of fame. Hetfield
received a special induction for attending Downey High in Downey,
California during his freshman and sophomore years, an era of great personal
difficulties for a young man at the centre of a family torn apart.
Alter Bridge’s Brian Marshall demanded that Slash
give them back their singer in an interview at Rock on the Range
recently. Joking when asked about plans for another Creed album, AB
bassist Marshall said: “I wanna say this to Slash…. Give me my singer back,
dude! We’re talking [about Creed activity] but we just want to think about Alter
Bridge right now, and continue this momentum.” And Myles Kennedy
admitted that they were pleasantly surprised by the reaction to their latest
album AB III which was released late last year after a gap of three years since
the hugely successful Blackbird.
A photographer lucked out at a garage sale when he found a collection of
unpublished negatives of Marilyn Monroe for just $2. Anton
Fury has hung on to the folder of never before seen negatives of the late
Hollywood starlet for about three decades. Fury said he didn't know who the
woman in the negatives was until he looked at them more closely at home. The
black and white photos feature poolside images of a young Monroe in a bikini and
wedge sandals. Also in the folder were negatives of actress Jayne
Mansfield.
