The Muppets
A group of friends must reunite Kermit, Miss Piggy
and the rest of the gang to stage The Greatest Muppet
Telethon Ever. On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the
world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason
Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from
Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman
Tex Richman to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the
oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former
stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon
Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the
theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the
Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie
now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the
Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at
Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for
anger management, and Gonzo is a high powered plumbing
magnate.

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World
On the surface, Marissa Cortez Wilson (Jessica Alba) has it all;
married to a famous spy hunting television reporter, a new baby and intelligent
twin step kids. But in reality, trying to mother Rebecca and Cecil, who clearly
don't want her around, is her toughest challenge yet. Also, her husband, Wilbur
(Joel McHale), wouldn't know a spy if he lived with one which is exactly the
case: Marissa's a retired secret agent. Original Spy Kids Carmen (Alexa
Vega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) round out the cast.
The Buzz...
The finale of Dancing With the Stars won the night for ABC
Tuesday, but its ratings were down significantly from last fall's closer, in
keeping with this season as a whole. NCIS and the other CBS dramas
had a bit of an off night, while a special Tuesday edition of The X Factor
struggled opposite DWTS.
The long awaited Star Trek sequel, which writer/director J.J.
Abrams will be shooting in 3-D finally has a release date. We'll be seeing
the further adventures of Spock, Kirk and friends on May 17th, 2013.
A few familiar faces will return to Desperate Housewives before it
bows out at the end of the season. Dana Delany, Kyle
MacLachlan and Andrea Bowen are all set to reprise their roles
on the ABC series in 2012. Just how Katherine Mayfair, Orson Hodge and
Julie Mayer will be brought back into the story remains to be seen. Delany left
the show late in Season 6 to star on Body of Proof, which is now in its
second season on ABC.
Regis Philbin has been gone from the show formerly known as
Live! With Regis and Kelly! for less than a week, but that doesn't mean
remaining host Kelly Ripa and puppetmaster producer Michael
Gelman aren't busy lining up someone to keep his seat warm. On Monday
(Nov. 21), Jerry Seinfeld kicked off a three-day stint as the
first post-Regis guest host. On Monday (Nov. 29), How I Met Your Mother's
Neil Patrick Harris will sit in. And, ABC announced in a
statement released Wednesday (Nov. 23) afternoon, two newbies will be testing
out the co-host waters in the coming days: Moneyball co-star Jonah
Hill and Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough.
Hough will sit in on Dec. 5. Hill follows him the next day, on Dec. 6.
Court records show a financial settlement has been agreed upon between wrestler
Terry Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, and his
ex-wife. Linda Bollea received a little more than 70 percent of
the couple's liquid assets in their divorce settlement. He agreed to give his
ex-wife 40 percent ownership in his various companies and pay her an additional
$3 million property settlement. Linda Bollea filed for divorce in 2009. The
settlement was confidential but came to light this week after it was attached to
a new motion filed in court records. Linda Bollea received $7.44 million of the
couple's $10.41 million that was held in bank and investment accounts. Terry
Bollea will not pay his ex-wife alimony.
Prospect Park has suspended its plans to revive All My Children
and One Life to Live online. Prospect Park's Rich Frank and
Jeff Kwatinetz cited "mounting issues" that make it "impossible"
for the company to meet its One Life to Live deadlines. Plans for its online
version of All My Children were abandoned earlier this month.
Sugarland has unfortunately found itself in a sticky legal situation. The
country duo are being sued by 44 victims of last August's terrifying stage
collapse at the Indiana State Fair for negligence. The complaint, filed
in Marion Superior Court in Indianapolis, accuses Sugarland, concert promoter
Live Nation, Esg Security, the stagehands' union, and
other companies of failing to ensure a safe environment for concertgoers that
contributed to the tragedy.
Back in September the remake of Red Dawn, directed by Dan
Bradley, finally received a bit of good news. After being on hold for the
longest time due to the bankruptcy of MGM, FilmDistrict picked up
the title for distribution. The only thing missing from the story was an
announcement as to when the film would actually be arriving in theaters. Red
Dawn will be arriving in theaters on November 2, 2012. The film, which stars
Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, Josh
Hutcherson, Josh Peck, Isabel Lucas, Jeffrey
Dean Morgan and Brett Cullen, was at the center of
controversy earlier this year when it was announced that it would be digitally
altered to change the villain, originally China, into North Korea.
GOP Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann
received an apology from an NBC executive after an off color song was
played during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night,
her spokeswoman said late Wednesday. The Minnesota congresswoman received a
personal letter from NBC's vice president for late night programming, Doug
Vaughan, a day after she appeared on the show. As Bachmann walked
onstage, the show's band had played a snippet of a 1985 Fishbone song
entitled "Lyin' Ass Bitch."
Legendary musician Jimi Hendrix was named the greatest guitar
player in history by Rolling Stone magazine in a list compiled by
a panel of music experts and top guitar players. "Jimi Hendrix exploded our idea
of what rock music could be: He manipulated the guitar, the whammy bar, the
studio and the stage," said Grammy winning guitarist Tom Morello
in the magazine, citing Hendrix's Purple Haze and The
Star-Spangled Banner as key tracks.
