Hugo
Based on Brian Selznick's captivating and
imaginative New York Times bestseller The Invention of
Hugo Cabret. Hugo Cabret, Scorsese's first film
shot in 3D, tells the tale of an orphan boy living a
secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. When
Hugo encounters a broken machine, an eccentric girl, and
the cold, reserved man who runs the toy shop, he is
caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure that could
put all of his secrets in jeopardy.

30 Minutes Or Less
Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose
mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna be criminal masterminds (Danny
McBride, Nick Swardson). The volatile duo kidnaps Nick and
forces him to rob a bank. With mere hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick
enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the
clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers,
and their own tumultuous relationship.
The Buzz...
Slash continues work on his next solo album, due out next spring and has
updated fans on the progress. The guitarist and his touring band - Myles
Kennedy (Alter Bridge), rhythm guitarist Bobby
Schneck, bassist Todd Kerns (Sin City Sinners,
formerly of Age Of Electric), and drummer Brent Fitz
(formerly of Theory Of A Deadman) – have been holed up at
Barefoot Studios in LA with producer Eric Valentine
getting ideas together and songs down on tape. "Ok, 13 songs ready to record,"
writes Slash in his latest update to fans. "3 already done. 2 more to finish
writing before Dec. 12 on the record, 6 bonus trx, Woohoo!"
Sony Pictures have acquired the distribution rights to Fede
Alvarez’s upcoming Evil Dead remake, meaning those soul
swallowing deadites will be launching themselves at the general public on a
massive scale.
Alice Eve is the latest actress to be beamed up to join the cast
of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2. The British actress, best known for
her roles Stateside in Sex And The City 2 and She’s Out
Of My League, will play a brand new character to the franchise.
A comic book featuring Superman's first appearance has sold for a record
breaking $2.2 million. Action Comics No 1 originally sold for just $0.10
upon its release in 1938, and now a copy of the rare edition has made millions
at an online auction and become the world's most expensive comic. The comic
book, which features the Man of Steel's debut, was rumoured to have once been
owned by Hollywood star Nicolas Cage.
Kanye West dominated the Grammy nominations, picking up a leading
seven nods. Among the rap star's nominations was Song of the Year for All of
the Lights, his collaboration with Fergie, Rihanna and Kid
Cudi. The controversial rapper's collaboration with Jay-z,
Watch the Throne, was nominated for Best Rap Album. His other
nominations included Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song, Best Rap
Performance and, for his other album last year, My Beautiful Dark, Twisted
Fantasy, another Best Rap Album nomination. He was not nominated for Best
Album, however.
Tuesday night’s penultimate episode of FX’s Sons of
Anarchy delivered the show’s biggest rating since its fourth season
premiere. Sons was seen by 4.4 million and had a 2.7 rating in the adult 18-49
demographic, ranking as cable’s highest rated show Tuesday night. This bodes
well for the show’s finale.
Paulina Gretzky's prolific (and racy) Tweeting didn't score any points
with her famous father, apparently. The party girl daughter of hockey superstar
Wayne Gretzky shut down her Twitter account over the weekend, apparently
after a chat with her father. "Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about
social media..haha," Paulina Tweeted last week before closing her account. The
22 year old aspiring model, actress and singer was known for chronicling her
party lifestyle and posting sexy photos wearing lingerie, bikinis and skimpy
outfits on her account.
Just days after announcing his split from wife Demi Moore, 49,
Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher, 33, headed to his
Midwest Iowa hometown for Thanksgiving. There he enjoyed nature as well as
garnered attention at several local bars.
So why was Van Halen a no-show at the Grammy Nominations
Concert Live Tuesday night? While the Recording Academy, to its credit, never
uttered the words Van Halen, rumors had been flying that the band would announce
its reunion on the show. In an October press release, the Academy touted that
the TV show would “feature a special live announcement from a truly iconic group
regarding their historic band reunion set to take place” at the Grammys. After
we all started guessing, the Academy later tweeted, “Does this hint make u wanna
Jump and Dance The Night Away?"
Was Kim Kardashian's 72-day marriage to NBA player Kris
Humphries a big sham? Opinions are divided on this raging topic of
national debate, but Humphries himself appears to think so. TMZ reports
that, although Kardashian has already filed for divorce from Humphries, the
basketball jock has filed for an annulment, claiming that the Keeping Up With
the Kardashians star defrauded him into marrying her. Individuals connected to
the athlete tell the site that Humphries was unaware that he was allegedly being
played for a pawn and hoped that their union would be a lasting relationship of
eternal love, but Kardashian wasn't interested.
From the cover of the DVD, it appears to be a newly released horror film
starring The Social Network's Jesse Eisenberg, but anyone
renting a copy of Camp Hell may be in for a different kind of
shock to the one they shelled out for. The Oscar nominated actor is suing
studio Lionsgate for falsely advertising his small cameo, which he filmed
in 2007 as a favour to friends, as a lead role in the low budget movie.
Filmmaker Bryan Singer will both direct the pilot for NBC's
upcoming remake of the '60s monster sitcom The Munsters and
produce it. The X-Men director "is closing in on a deal to direct and
executive produce NBC's The Munsters." "The project, which received a pilot
order earlier this month, is billed as an imaginative reinvention of the classic
comedy series as a visually spectacular one hour drama.
Gloria Estefan is in talks to play Santana's mom on Glee.
Estefan will appear in the same January episode as Ricky Martin,
who's reportedly playing McKinley High's Spanish teacher.
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has found ways to
keep himself busy when he's off the road. An avid photographer and writer, Sixx
has already published two books: The Heroin Diaries (2007) and This Is
Gonna Hurt (2011). Now, Sixx tells fans he has another two books in the
works; he was asked "when is your next book coming?" on Facebook, and
offered this response: "I am working on it now... I am hoping to release it
somewhere between May-June 2012," writes Sixx. "I am writing two books as we
speak actually. The 2nd book will be out in 2013." "Neither book is like
anything I have done before (I guess you can say the same thing about The Heroin
Diaries and This Is Gonna Hurt too )," he continued.
The Black Keys have been booked as the musical guest for
the December 3 episode of Saturday Night Live with host
Steve Buscemi. The band will be promoting their seventh album, El
Camino, and they will have the rare distinction of appearing on the show
twice in one year. Their first 2011 appearance on the long running series was on
the January 8 episode with host Jim Carrey.
