The Lion King 3D
Walt Disney's beloved animated musical
roars on to the big screen for a special two week
engagement, in 3D for the first time ever. A heroic
coming of age story which follows the epic adventures of
a young lion cub named Simba as he struggles to accept
the responsibilities of adulthood and his destined role
as king of the jungle. As a carefree cub, he is both
excited and anxious to become king, one day, and spends
his days frolicking with his pal, Nala. His father, King
Mufasa, the revered ruler of Pride Rock and the lands
that surround it, teaches him about the Circle of Life,
the delicate balance of nature which bonds all animals
together. Simba's father cautions him to prepare for the
day when he will be called upon to lead. Mufasa's evil
brother, Scar, hopes that day will never arrive and
schemes to do away with the king and Simba so that he
can assume the throne for his own tyrannical purposes.

The Buzz...
J.J. Abrams is ready to engage. Abrams has signed on to direct the sequel
to his 2009 hit Star Trek. The first film’s screenwriters Alex
Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are penning the screenplay with
producer Damon Lindelof, and the main cast, including Chris
Pine and Zachary Quinto are all set to return. The untitled
sequel was originally scheduled to come out June 2012, but the film has moved
off of that date to give the writers enough time to polish the script.
Given she plays Black Widow on the big screen, it's too bad she
can't call the Avengers in on this one. Back in March, Scarlett
Johansson's name popped up on a list of celebrities who found themselves the
target of hackers that broke into their cell phones and leaked some nude photos
and video. With sultry X-rated pics of the sex symbol surfacing today on various
gossip sites, ScarJo's fighting back by reaching out to the feds to find the
perpetrators.
Forget all that rubbish about Christina Aguilera leaving The
Voice. Despite rumors earlier this week that producers wanted the
Beautiful songbird off the show, Executive producer Mark Burnett
says nothing could be further from the truth. "Christina is absolutely staying.
She is not going anywhere, 100 percent. We were emailing with Christina
yesterday. They're all back."
Michaele Salahi, who famously crashed a White House dinner, has
run away from home with Journey guitarist Neal Schon. This,
after her distressed husband, Tareq Salahi, had called authorities
several times to report his wife missing. Now a castmember on Real Housewives
of D.C., Salahi told the Warren County, Va. Sheriff's Office that she was
"with a good friend and was where she wanted to be." Salahi has been dating
Schon and joined him for a Journey concert appearance in Nashville.
The Talk producers apparently thought it was time for a change.
But don't ask Holly Robinson Peete the reason why. "To be
quite honest no, we have not heard a reason, and that kind of makes it a little
more frustrating," the former Talk cohost says of getting axed from the CBS
show.
Justin Bieber is dropping more and more hints about his charity
Christmas album, with more recording getting done this week. Apparently the
17 year old pop star has tapped Boyz II Men for some holiday cheer.
The revived Charlie's Angels series is going back to its roots.
The new show, starring Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly
and Rachael Taylor, will feature an episode called Angels in
Chains, which is loosely based on the iconic original from the hit '70s
series. The episode, airing Oct. 6 on ABC, will show the three Angels
being framed by crooks and thrown into a women's prison.
Will Katy Perry be six times lucky? Capitol is officially going
after the brass ring with the decision to launch The One That Got Away as
the sixth single from Teenage Dream. If “The One” goes to No. 1on the
Billboard Hot 100, she will become the first artist to score a
sextet of chart toppers from one album. As you know, Perry and Michael
Jackson are tied as the only two artists who have accomplished landing five
songs from one album in the pole position.
A little bit of the Jersey Shore will come to the CW’s
90210 this autumn. Vinny Guadagnino has been cast in an
episode that will air in November. Guadagnino will portray a celebrity who plays
in a high stakes poker game with Liam (Matt Lanter) when the cast
heads to Las Vegas.
Actor Tyler Perry, who has his own film and TV studio in Atlanta,
ranks atop the list of Hollywood's highest paid men, in a new ranking from
Forbes.com that includes director Steven Spielberg and singer
Elton John. Perry topped the list by making $130 million from May
2010 to May 2011, financial website Forbes.com reports.
Handwritten love letters from Hollywood legend James Dean to his
then girlfriend Barbara Glenn are being auctioned off at
Christie's in London. The couple dated for two years. The three letters written
in the 1954 are expected to get up to $25,000.
