Death Wish
Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a
surgeon who often sees the consequences of the city's
violence in the emergency room. When home intruders
brutally attack his wife and young daughter, Kersey
becomes obsessed with delivering vigilante justice to
the perpetrators. As the anonymous slayings grab the
media's attention, the public begins to wonder if the
deadly avenger is a guardian angel, or the Grim Reaper
itself.

Despite his family's generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of

Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends

family history.
The Buzz...
Kevin Smith is on the mend after suffering a “massive heart
attack.” The Clerks director, 47, shared a selfie from his hospital bed
after the health scare to update fans on his recovery. He was scheduled to
perform two shows in Glendale, California, on Sunday night, which were being
filmed for a stand-up special. However, Smith canceled the evening’s second show
to get checked out, which proved to be a life saving decision.
Eric Dane has filed his response to Rebecca Gayheart's
divorce, and it's a mirror image of his estranged wife's petition. Dane is on
board with Rebecca's custody and spousal support requests. Gayheart asked in her
divorce petition for spousal support, as well as joint legal and physical
custody of the couple's 2 daughters, 6 and 7.
The death of legendary Indian film star Sridevi was caused by accidental
drowning in her Dubai hotel room and not because of a cardiac arrest, as
reported earlier, according to police.
Clueless Actress Stacey Dash is running for Congress
as a Republican in California's 44th Congressional District, according to
paperwork filed on Monday with the Federal Election Commission. Her campaign
committee is called "Dash to DC." Dash is a prominent conservative and
served for a time as a contributor on Fox News.
Gary Oldman, the frontrunner for the best-actor Oscar, is
contemplating returning to his role as Winston Churchill, the
character he played in Darkest Hour, for which he’s won almost
every major acting award this season.
Tyler Perry is building a massive estate near his massive studio
in Georgia. We're told he's been designing and building on the property for 3
years. The mansion will be 35,000 square feet but that's not the craziest part.
It sits on 1,200 acres, which Tyler will turn into an organic farm with horse
and other animals.
Stan Lee might've allowed way too many hands in the cookie jar,
because another $1.4 million just up and disappeared and he has no idea how.
Sources connected to Lee say LAPD detectives working in a specialized
unit that deals with elder financial abuse showed up at Stan's Hollywood Hills
pad Friday to look into the latest theft.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air might be
getting dethroned soon, because there's a potential new heir being eyed for a TV
reboot, and he's a she. The company that owns the rights to 'Fresh Prince' filed
a few trademark applications seeking to lock down rights to "Fresh
Princess" for a television program and virtually every other media platform.
La La Land co-star Callie Hernandez has
landed the lead role in Fox’s musically tinged drama pilot Mixtape.
Penned by ex-Smash EP Josh Safran, the potential series
centers on a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los
Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are.
Syfy and USA Network's forthcoming The Purge TV
series has cast its leads. Gabriel Chavarria (War for the
Planet of the Apes) and Jessica Garza (Six) will star
in the scripted drama for both NBCUniversal owned cable networks.
The Murphy Brown revival at CBS is bringing back some
familiar faces. Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto, and
Grant Shaud will all return to reprise their characters of Corky
Sherwood, Frank Fontana, and Miles Silverberg respectively. Only fellow core
cast member Charles Kimbrough, who played Jim Dial, has not signed
on at this point.
Another piece of Captain Marvel casting has fallen into place. Humans
star Gemma Chan is set to play Minn-Erva in the
Disney/Marvel superhero movie that stars Brie Larson as Carol
Danvers/Captain Marvel. Per the comics-verse, Minn-Erva (aka Doctor Minerva) is
a Kree geneticist and spy.
With director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot
gearing up to begin production on Wonder Woman 2 this
spring, it was only a matter of time before we started getting some casting
rumours for the DC sequel. The follow-up to last year’s solo blockbuster
will find Diana going up against one of her fiercest foes in Dr. Barbara Ann
Minerva, a.k.a. Cheetah. Warner Bros. and Jenkins are seeking an
A-list actress for the role, and had made an offer to The Amazing Spider-Man
and La La Land star Emma Stone, although the
Oscar winner passed on the opportunity.
Mark Hamill and James Gunn, it appears, will be
hanging out soon and one of the topics they'll go over is the possibility of the
Luke Skywalker actor maybe being cast in the upcoming Guardians
of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The pair got to talking over Twitter on Sunday night,
and basically, it ended with them agreeing to hang out soon since they live near
each other in Malibu.
