At The Movies

Jumanji: The Next Level
When Spencer goes back into the fantastical world of Jumanji, pals Martha, Fridge and Bethany re-enter the game to bring him home. But everything about Jumanji is about to change, as they soon discover more obstacles and more danger to overcome. Directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg. It is the second sequel to 1995's Jumanji, following 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and the third installment of the Jumanji franchise. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black reprise their roles.

On DVD

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
Actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) gained fame and fortune by starring in a 1950s television Western, but is now struggling to find meaningful work in a Hollywood that he doesn't recognize anymore. He spends most of his time drinking and palling around with Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), his easygoing best friend and longtime stunt double. Rick also happens to live next door to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate, the filmmaker and budding actress whose futures will forever be altered by members of the Manson Family.

The Buzz...

Alice star Philip McKeon has died at the age of 55, according to a representative. McKeon died on Tuesday after a long battle with an unspecified illness.

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles is opening up about the "poor decision" he made in the early aughts that allegedly affected his daughter and Kelly Rowland during their Destiny's Child days. During a sit down video interview with Vlad TV, to promote his latest book, the 67 year old talent manager and businessman claimed that Beyoncé and Kelly were victims of sexual harassment by two members of the group Jagged Edge.

Disney+ has finally found its lead for the upcoming Home Alone reboot on the streaming platform. Jojo Rabbit breakout star Archie Yates will be starring in the reboot of the classic film. Variety also reports that the young actor will "not be playing the iconic Kevin McCallister, but a new character in a similar premise to the original franchise." As fans may recall, Macaulay Culkin played the role of McCallister in the original 1990 film.

Britney Spears will do whatever it takes to be there for her children. Three months after the pop star and ex Kevin Federline reached a new custody agreement, Spears plans to make it her "mission" to get more time with her sons. As it stands, Spears has 30 percent, unsupervised custodial rights.

Fox News is facing yet another lawsuit. On Tuesday, Fox News host Britt McHenry filed a lawsuit against the network and its corporate parents, accusing them of "refusing to investigate some of her claims, shunning her, shutting her out of company events and refusing to allow her on Fox News Channel shows."

Paul McCartney is collaborating with Netflix and Gaumont on the animated feature “High in the Clouds,” based on the children’s novel he wrote with Geoff Dunbar, and Philip Ardagh. McCartney is producing and contributing songs to the film, which centers on an imaginative teenage squirrel named Wirral who find himself pulled into a ramshackle gang of teenage rebels who live high in the clouds.

Marvel Television, the small screen division of the big, bad, hit comic book IP factory responsible for so many movie sensations and anticipated projects, is shutting down. The Jeph Loeb-led shingle, which many believed to be moving toward redundancy given Kevin Feige's promotion as Chief Creative Officer of Marvel, and his plans to make Disney+ shows that directly tie in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In what comes as a shock to probably no one, Game of Thrones was the most tweeted about TV show of 2019, according to Twitter’s year in review data. What might surprise you, however, is that Saturday Night Live, the show that came in at No. 1 on 2018’s list, was completely absent from this year’s Top 10 rankings.
