Spies In Disguise
Super spy Lance Sterling (Will Smith) and
scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) are
almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and
debonair. Walter is not. But what Walter lacks in social
skills he makes up for in smarts and invention, creating
the awesome gadgets Lance uses on his epic missions. But
when events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance
suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way.
And if this odd couple can't learn to work as a team,
the whole world is in peril.

Judy
Thirty years after starring in The Wizard of Oz,
beloved actress and singer Judy Garland arrives in London to
perform sold out shows at the Talk of the Town nightclub. While there, she
reminisces with friends and fans and begins a whirlwind romance with musician
Mickey Deans, her soon to be fifth husband. This biopic is a tragedy
at its core, but one that still delivers poignant glimpses of an icon’s longing
for happiness. Renée Zellweger is phenomenally good in this
captivating account of Judy Garland’s final London concert run.
The Buzz...
Harry Styles sophomore album, Fine Line, makes a
massive debut at Number One this week on the Rolling Stone Top
200 Albums Chart, moving 510,100 total album units for the
week of December 13th through December 19th. This marks the second highest debut
in the chart’s history, narrowly topping the 500,300 units for Post
Malone’s Hollywood’ Bleeding in its first week.
Reese Witherspoon and her look-alike daughter Ava
Phillippe are hitting the town in red lipstick. Witherspoon, 43, shared a
sweet selfie of herself and Ava, 20, posing together before their mother
daughter night out. “Girls night out with my favorite daughter! (ok she’s my
only daughter but still) ??,” Witherspoon captioned the post, which shows
herself and Ava smiling in red lipstick and black tops, which made their
striking resemblance even more uncanny.
Ed Sheeran famously sings about the shape of you, but it's the
shape of him that he's talking about now. In a newly posted episode of the
Behind the Medal podcast, the Grammy-winning musician
reflected on the changes he made to his diet and fitness that led to losing
around 50 pounds.
When it comes to Christmas movies, Keira Knightley is stumped as
to why her vintage flick, Love Actually, has become a holiday
mainstay. “I have no idea,” she told in an interview earlier this year, breaking
into a long pause. “I’ve actually only seen it once, at the premiere,” she
chuckled, “so I’m not the person to ask.” Depicting 10 intersecting romantic
storylines, the Richard Curtis-directed film, which was released
16 years ago, has gone on to become a Christmas classic.
Miley Cyrus has marked the first anniversary of her failed
marriage to Liam Hemsworth by releasing a new song about her most
miserable Christmas. My Sad Christmas Song dropped
on Sunday, almost a year to the day she married her estranged actor husband on
Dec. 23, with Cyrus telling fans she wrote the tune “a few years back.”
Taylor Swift attended “cat school” to learn what Jellicles can and
Jellicles do. To prepare for Cats, the big screen adaptation of Andrew
Lloyd Webber’s 1981 musical, Swift and her co-stars enrolled in
classes to master the movements of their four legged characters. In the film,
Swift plays Bombalurina, a rabble-rousing outsider who sprinkles catnip over the
Jellicle ball.
Actor Jake Cannavale has slammed Star Wars: The Rise Of
Skywalker as “hands down the worst Star Wars movie”. The star scored his
highest-profile acting role to date when he appeared in an episode of the
Disney+ Star Wars spin-off series, The Mandalorian.
The Vampire Chronicles is going to have to find itself a
new crypt. Anne Rice was originally working to adapt her best
selling books into a series at Hulu, but that’s no longer happening. Now,
Rice and her team are shopping the property around for a new home.
The Office might be re-opening its doors. In the era of TV reboots
and remakes, and when The Office is one of the most popular streaming
properties, it’s no surprise that NBC is looking back fondly at its
beloved Emmy winning sitcom. Chatter about The Office reboot has been ongoing
since last year, but with its stars onto bigger things, it seemed unlikely. But
an intriguing new development comes from series creator Greg Daniels,
who may have “an idea” for The Office reboot.
Stephen King’s Carrie is getting its latest treatment for the
screen. A limited series adaptation of the iconic horror novel is in development
at FX.
The next season of Dancing With the Stars won’t
premiere until fall 2020, but ABC is already having preliminary
conversations about which celebrities they’d like to recruit for Season 29, and
Charlie Sheen is at the top of the list. |
