At The Movies

Glass
M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals, 2000’s Unbreakable, from Touchstone, and 2016’s Split, from Universal, in one explosive, all new comic book thriller: Glass. From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Old Man And The Gun
At the age of 70, Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford) makes an audacious escape from San Quentin, conducting an unprecedented string of heists that confound authorities and enchant the public. Wrapped up in the pursuit are detective John Hunt, who becomes captivated with Forrest's commitment to his craft, and a woman who loves him in spite of his chosen profession. One of most endearing and heartfelt movies about bank robbery, it's simple story with miraculous results and by the end, you won't be sure to root for the cops or the robbers.

More people like a photo of an egg than they do a pic of Kylie Jenner's baby, Stormi, latching onto mama bear. Kylie lost the coveted title of Instagram's most liked post to an account called world_record_egg, which was created earlier this month with only one goal, to beat Kylie on Instagram. The account features just one post on its timeline, a pic of a brown egg.

Missy Elliott's induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on Jan. 12 proves the hustle is worth it. The Grammy Award-winning artist made history as the first female rapper and third rapper ever to receive the honor, following Jermaine Dupri's nomination last year and Jay-z's in 2017.

Celine Dion has followed Lady Gaga's cue and is pulling her collab with R. Kelly from streaming services. The song, I'm Your Angel, was recorded in 1998 and appeared on her holiday album, These are Special Times, R. Kelly wrote the song but it did not appear on any of his albums. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for 6 weeks. It went certified platinum and sold more than 1.5 million copies.

It's no secret that Maroon 5 had a hard time finding other acts to join them during next month's Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show in Atlanta. Pink, Rihanna and more reportedly passed on the gig in protest of the NFL fining players for kneeling during the National Anthem, which quarterback Colin Kaepernick started doing while still a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are ready to tie the knot. Following a whirlwind romance that began over the summer, Pratt, 39, announced that the couple is engaged on Instagram late Sunday night, captioning the post, “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"

HBO finally revealed the premiere date for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones in a teaser that aired just before the True Detective premiere. So mark your calendars for April 14, as we now know that’s the exact day we’re heading back to Westeros.

Months after debuting their own line of whiskey, Metallica have teamed with Stone Brewing to announce their own beer brand, Enter Night. Described as “a hoppy pilsner played through a distortion pedal,” the beer first appeared on the band’s fall 2018 tour dates and will gain full U.S. distribution in the first quarter of 2019. A spring rollout will include Europe, Australia, China and elsewhere.

Nearly a decade after its release, The Social Network could finally be getting closer to a sequel. Aaron Sorkin, whose work on the film won him the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 83rd Academy Awards, recently told the Associated Press the time has come where there is enough new material about Facebook to start writing an official sequel.
