At The Movies

Men In Black: International
Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson star as Agent H and Agent M, who employ high-tech weaponry to battle mischievous aliens on Earth. However, the pair also discover a major threat within their own ranks. Its fun to see Tessa Thompson & Chris Hemsworth working together again after Thor: Ragnarok & Avengers: Endgame. With a quick runtime of just a 115 minutes, this movie is packed with comedy, visual effects & stunning action scenes. A great addition to the MIB series for new and old fans.

On DVD

Captain Marvel
Set in the 1990's, the film revolves around Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), a crack air force pilot. Though trials and tribulations she becomes one of the galaxy's mightiest heroes and joins an elite outer space military team known as Starforce. Her membership in the Kree military team puts her in danger when Earth becomes hopelessly stuck in battle between two other alien worlds, forcing Danvers to take on the role of Captain Marvel and use her new powers for the greater good. Despite her mighty power, Captain Marvel will discover things about herself she never hoped to know.

The Buzz...

VH1 has ordered a new reality series Girls Cruise starring Lil’ Kim. The rapper will also executive produce the series for Big Fish Entertainment. The show will also star Chilli from the 1990s girls group TLC, as well as international pop star Mýa, Pretty Vee and B. Simone of MTV’s Wild N’ Out, and their longtime best friends Tiffany and Char.

Sandra Bullock’s college experience is the inspiration for a dramedy series set in the world of music and dance. Created and written by K.C. Perry (Constance) loosely inspired by Bullock’s college years, the show is described as a hilarious, boundary-crossing, and often soul wrenching trek through the oppressive cultural norms of the deep south in the 1980s, where one darkly off-beat young woman defies expectations and sets out in search of love, community, and most importantly, an identity of her own.

WarnerMedia's forthcoming streaming service is poised to explore the world of Dune. The yet unnamed platform has handed out a straight to series order for Dune: The Sisterhood, a female focused take on Frank Herbert's beloved novel. Denis Villeneuve, who wrote, produced and directed next year's new take on Dune, will helm the pilot.

Sam Rockwell is in final negotiations to star in Clint Eastwood’s next drama The Ballad of Richard Jewell. Eastwood is directing and producing through his Malpaso production banner. Tim Moore, Jessica Meier, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s partners Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Kevin Misher are also producing. The film is a drama based on the real-life security guard whose world was turned upside down after law enforcement leaked to an overzealous reporter at the Atlanta Journal Constitution that Jewell was a possible suspect for the pipe-bombing at Centennial Park during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Geena Davis has joined the cast of Glow for the Netflix wrestling comedy’s upcoming third season. Davis will guest star as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, the former showgirl turned entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, appearing in five of Season 3’s 10 episodes.

Netflix has picked up Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ film adaption of the Tom Clancy video game The Division. The movie is set to star Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain and it will be directed by Hobbs And Shaw and Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch.

When it was announced that Jordan Peele was producing a remake reboot of the classic slasher film Candyman, many film fans were left scratching their heads. Peele, who has made a big name for himself in the horror genre with his films Get Out and Us, isn’t the first filmmaker you’d think of for a remake of a schlocky, not so great ‘90s horror film.

Bo Burnham is on his way to Sesame Street. The director is set to contribute songs to a Warner Bros. live-action adaptation of the popular children’s show, which will hit theaters Jan. 15, 2021. Portlandia director and co-creator Jonathan Krisel is helming the musical, co-financed by Warner Bros. and MGM.

Viacom plans to launch a streaming service focused on the African American cable network called BET+. The upcoming service, which will launch in the fall, will feature original content from Tyler Perry, who will be a financial stake holder in the service.

Nickelodeon has found the members of its new Midnight Society for the upcoming Are You Afraid of the Dark? limited series. The three episode revival will premiere this October and follow an entirely new group of kids who tell a terrifying tale about the Carnival of Doom, only to have the events of the story come to life.

Lil Xan can claim he pulled a gun on a stranger in self-defense, but right now cops are looking at the incident as a possible case of assault with a deadly weapon.

John Cena's days in the WWE ring could be numbered, with the superstar admitting he's been recently giving serious thought about hanging up his trunks for good.
