Bad Boys For Life
Old-school cops Mike Lowery (Will Smith)
and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) team
up to take down the vicious leader of a Miami drug
cartel. Newly created elite team AMMO of the Miami
police department along with Mike and Marcus go up
against the ruthless Armando Armas. A worthy sequel to
the franchise, that has a truly funny buddy cop story
enhanced with fantastic stunts and effects.

Gemini Man
Henry Brogan (Will Smith) is an elite 51 year old assassin who's
ready to call it quits after completing his 72nd job. His plans get turned
upside down when he becomes the target of a mysterious operative who can
seemingly predict his every move. To his horror, Brogan soon learns that the man
who's trying to kill him is a younger, faster, cloned version of himself. Gemini
Man is a popcorn action entertainer that deserves to be seen despite the
negative reviews. Will Smith's impressive performance in both his roles, the
stylish action sequences, some intriguing twists and a fast paced story
highlight this film.

The highly anticipated Friends reunion special at HBO
Max is still a “maybe”, according to the network’s chief content officer
Kevin Reilly. It was reported last November that stars Jennifer
Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David
Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc
would all participate in the one-off unscripted show, alongside the show’s
original creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman.
Model Gigi Hadid was dismissed as a potential juror in Harvey
Weinstein’s criminal trial in New York City. After appearing at the
Manhattan courthouse for a few minutes, Hadid and roughly 60 other people were
dismissed based on their responses to a prescreening questionnaire filled out
earlier in the week. The model first appeared in court as a potential juror and
said she could keep an “open mind on the facts” despite having met Weinstein
before. But the model’s celebrity status was a cause for concern for the
defense, which filed a motion on Wednesday afternoon citing the media attention
on her.
Demi Lovato will sing the National Anthem before kickoff at
Super Bowl LIV, taking place at Hard Rock Stadium in
Miami on February 2nd. The news comes shortly after she was announced as a
performer for the 62nd Grammy Awards on January 26th.
Actor and acting coach Stan Kirsch, best known for his role in the
TV series Highlander, was found dead Saturday at his home in Los Angeles.
He was 51. Kirsch who played Richie Ryan for six seasons for the popular 90’s
show, died of an apparent suicide.
Aubrey Plaza channeled her inner Jennifer Lopez on
The Ellen DeGeneres Show and did her best to recreate the star's epic
entrance in Hustlers. After admitting that she is excited to see the "Jenny
From The Block" singer at the 2020 Independent Spirit
Awards, host Ellen DeGeneres pitched the idea of working the pole when
the Parks and Recreation alum hosts the award show next month.
Whitney Houston, The Notorious B.I.G. and Depeche
Mode are among the music legends who will be inducted into the Rock And
Roll Hall Of Fame this year. The Doobie Brothers,
Nine Inch Nails, and T.Rex are the other three nominees
who will be honoured by the organization at a ceremony in May.
You won’t have to fight for your right to see a documentary about the hip-hop
group Beastie Boys from Oscar winning Her and
Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze, but
you will have to pay for a movie ticket or Apple TV+ subscription. A new
documentary called Beastie Boys Story has been picked up by
Apple.
As more streaming platforms launch and become an increasingly familiar
entertainment option for customers, an analyst has said Netflix will
spend around $17bn on content in 2020. Dan Salmon of BMO
Capital Markets forecast that the streaming platform will spend more
than $26bn by 2026 as it forges ahead in its mission to make itself as
attractive as possible to current and potential global subscribers. It is
understood a large part of the focus will be on original content as the platform
strives to differentiate itself from other services.
Peacock, NBCUniversal’s upcoming streaming service, has ordered a
10-episode first season of Punky Brewster, with original series
star Soleil Moon Frye set to reprise her role as the
titular character who became a pop culture staple of the 1980s. |
