Space Force
From the Office of Greg Daniels and
Steve Carell (with an all star cast
featuring John Malkovich), Space Force is
a workplace comedy series that centers on a group of
people tasked with establishing the sixth branch of the
United States Armed Forces, the United States Space
Force. Carell's character, Mark Naird, is the general in
charge of the effort and the series follows his
collaboration to get "boots on the moon" per the orders
of the President. Air Force Lieutenant General Mark
Naird is promoted to full four-star general and is
hoping to take over as the Chief of Staff of the Air
Force. However, he is appointed as the first Chief of
Operations of the newest United States military branch:
the United States Space Force. A fresh and original
premise based in reality. A great cast of comedic
talent, but doesn't lean on the fame of it's lineup.
Great writing, so you're not sitting through predictable
jokes and plot points.

Survive The Night
An action thriller film directed by Matt Eskandari and
starring Bruce Willis, Chad Michael Murray,
and Shea Buckner. It follows a doctor who is taken hostage along
with his family inside their homes after two injured criminals break in. The
film is well-paced and the camera work is slick. Bruce has a surprising larger
role then I expected as the grandfatherly patriarch and he's effective enough to
keep be engrossed. The rest of cast are admirable. With the stand out being,
Shae Buckner who plays a unhinged but sympathetic criminal and does well to add
layers to the role.
The Buzz...
David Guetta just brought New York City's largest dance party from
the Top of the Rock directly into fans' homes through his #UnitedAtHomeNYC
livestream. In an a collaborative effort with Mayor Bill de Blasio and
First Lady Chirlane McCray, the French DJ spun from the top of 30
Rockefeller Center to help raise money for the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York
City and other Covid-19 relief charities.
Nina Dobrev has made her relationship with Shaun White
Instagram official, after sharing snaps of herself giving the Olympian a
lockdown haircut on her Instagram page. The 31 year old actress first sparked
romance rumours with the snowboarder back in March, when they were spotted on a
bike ride together. And it seems things are going from strength to strength for
the fledgling couple, with Shaun even trusting Nina to tame his famous red
locks.
Sonic the Hedgehog is to return for a sequel, after the
original smashed the U.S. record for the biggest video game movie opening of all
time. Paramount Pictures and Sega Sammy confirmed on Thursday that
they’ve started work on a follow-up film, which will bring back Jeff
Fowler as director and Pat Casey and Josh Miller
as scriptwriters. The first film starred James Marsden and Jim
Carrey and featured the voice of Ben Schwartz as the world’s
speediest hedgehog, but decisions have yet to be made on casting for the next
film.
The future for Latino voices in mainstream entertainment looks to be a little
brighter with the announcement that the Disney+ family series Diary of
a Future President has been greenlit for a second season. The series,
created by Ilana Peña, originally premiered in January of this
year and tells the story of Elena Cañero-Reed (played by newcomer Tess
Romero) as she deals with family drama and school, with the audience knowing
she will one day become President of the United States.
After being in development at Showtime for more than two years, the Gal Gadot-led
Hedy Lamarr has instead moved to Apple TV+, with the tech
giant giving the project an eight episode limited series order. The show will be
executive produced by Gadot (Wonder Woman) who will also star, and
Sarah Treem (House of Cards). A release date has not
been determined. Hailed as “the most beautiful woman in the world,” Hedy Lamarr
was first exalted and iconized, then destroyed and eventually forgotten by
American audiences, all the while keeping her brilliant mind active through a
series of inventions, one of which became the basis for the spread spectrum
technology we use today.
In an unusual move, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO,
Starz and other major Hollywood players are using their corporate social
media accounts to take a stand and support the Black Lives
Matter movement amid the ongoing nationwide protests decrying the death of
George Floyd at the hands of police officers.
NBC News and ABC News broke into their networks’
Saturday-night schedules to cover protests breaking around the country in
reaction to the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, while the
nation’s three main cable-news networks featured ongoing coverage of public
dissent instead of regularly scheduled programming.

a second bid.
