Defending Jacob (Apple TV Plus)
After a shocking crime rocks a small town, an assistant district attorney (Chris Evans) finds himself torn between his sworn duty to uphold the law and his unconditional love for his son. Chris Evans turns in one of his finest performances. He elevates the drama from streaming tv to theatrical and you can't take your eyes off of him due to his deep internal work. Every scene he brings layers of subtext ranging from love, rage, guilt, and denial as the story unfolds about his son's supposed crime.

The King Of Staten Island
A semi autobiographical comedy drama about Pete Davidson (SNL) growing up in Staten Island, including losing his father during 9/11 and entering the world of stand up comedy. Scott (Davidson) has been a case of arrested development ever since his firefighter father died when he was seven. As his younger sister heads off to college, Scott, now in his mid-20s, spends his days smoking marijuana and hanging out with his friends. When his mother starts dating Ray, a loudmouth firefighter from Indianapolis, it sets off a chain of events that forces Scott to grapple with his grief and start to move forward in life. Directed by Judd Apatow, from a screenplay by Apatow, Pete Davidson, and Dave Sirus, it stars Davidson, Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, Bel Powley, Maude Apatow, and Steve Buscemi.
