On DVD

Outlander (Starz)
Outlander takes audiences along for the adventure of Claire Randall, a nurse in the process of rekindling her marriage to her husband Frank after the couple spent five years apart during World War II. As the two are enjoying a trip to Scotland, where Frank is conducting research about his family roots, an unexpected chain of events draws Claire back to the year 1743. While there she meets and is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a bold and handsome Scottish Warrior. This turn of events leaves Claire torn between two men, two time periods and two very different lives.

The Buzz...

Singer and mental health advocate Demi Lovato has teamed up with DJ Marshmello to release a new single marking World Suicide Prevention Day. OK Not to Be OK was released on Thursday and Marshmello reveals the collaboration has been “in the works” for years.

Drew Barrymore mixed up Cameron Diaz’s cellphone number and sent her invitation to appear on her new talk show to a young boy, while she was getting dressed. The two friends and Charlie’s Angels castmate Lucy Liu reunited for The Drew Barrymore Show on Monday, and Diaz revealed she never initially got the video invite, shot as Drew was getting ready for the day, because her pal sent it to someone else by mistake.

Lady Gaga is reportedly circling a new X-Men character for an upcoming Marvel blockbuster. The pop superstar, who showed off her acting skills in A Star is Born, is in talks to play Emma Frost, aka the White Queen. If she signs on, Gaga might not be the only singer suiting up for the new X-Men movie. Janelle Monae recently expressed interest in playing Storm, a mutant character previously portrayed by Halle Berry.

Bindi Irwin has shared news of how her pregnancy is progressing and revealed her unborn baby is now “the size of a hummingbird.” The 22 year old conservationist daughter of late Australian naturalist Steve Irwin posted a photo of herself on Saturday alongside husband Chandler Powell, 23, on Instagram.

Kid Rock will headline a rally for U.S. leader Donald Trump in his home state of Michigan on Monday. The star will hit the stage at the event to promote the President’s re-election campaign at Bumpers Landing Boat Club. The Cowboy hitmaker is an avid Trump supporter and met with the Commander in Chief at the White House in 2018, when he signed the Orrin G. Hatch-Bob Goodlatte Music Modernization Act.

Will Smith teamed up with his pal Jazzy Jeff to launch the mansion from his much loved TV show The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air on Airbnb. Smith, who starred in the 90s sitcom about a teenager from a rough neighbourhood who is sent to live with his rich relatives, Uncle Phil and Aunt Vivian, will return with the cast in a one-off HBO Max special to mark its 30th anniversary. And, ahead of the special, the owners of the iconic TV home have listed it on Airbnb, making one wing of the mansion available to stay in for five nights at a bargain $30 a night in October.

Netflix, amid a backlash over the sexualized portrayal of children in recently released drama Cuties, is encouraging critics to watch the movie, which it says makes a statement about pressures young girls face in conforming to societal role models of female sexuality.

Oscar winning actress Frances McDormand’s portrayal of a nomad in her new movie was so convincing that she was offered a job in discount store Target during filming.

Grammy award winning rapper Clifford Harris, known as T.I., agreed to pay a U.S. regulator $75,000 to settle charges that he broke securities laws by selling fraudulent crypto currency investments.

It started out as just a plastic prop from a party shop but the gold coloured crown that American rapper Biggie Smalls wore on the last photo shoot before his death could fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars at Sotheby’s first ever hip-hop auction.
