Invincible (Amazon Prime)
An adult animated superhero show that revolves around Mark Grayson, a normal teenager except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage. He soon discovers his father's legacy may not be as heroic as it seems. An amazing effort from the people that brought you The Walking Dead, this is not a kids cartoon by any means.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (Disney +)
Set in present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12 year old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win at all costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) who has since become a despondent owner of a low level ice rink, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.

The Buzz...

Sylvester Stallone is planning to take his Rocky franchise to TV by writing a treatment for a potential prequel series. The action man gave fans a glimpse at his latest project on Monday by sharing pages of his handwritten notes for the show, which he is eager to pitch to online platform bosses.

A scandal plagued former British soccer star who turned to posting racy photos on OnlyFans is now training for a return to the pitch. Madelene Wright’s career flamed out late last year after videos emerged on Snapchat of the athlete drinking champagne while she was driving and inhaling an unknown substance from a balloon at a party. The soccer club she played for, Charleton Addicks, fired her immediately and she turned to amateur porn pit stop OnlyFans.

Ariana Grande is taking over Nick Jonas’ seat on the coaching panel of The Voice for the upcoming Season 21. The Positions hitmaker will join returning stars Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend on the music competition later this year, with Nick expected to join the rotation of coaches who will be back for another stint further down the line.

Prince fans will be able to mark the fifth anniversary of the Grammy winner’s death with a visit to the suburban Minnesota compound the singer songwriter called home where, according to the Associated Press, the legendary musician’s ashes will be on display.

HBO Max is adapting the true crime docuseries The Staircase into a scripted limited series that will star Colin Firth as American novelist Michael Peterson, who was on trial in 2001 for killing his wife. The writer claimed that his wife died at their home after falling down the stairs, but a medical examiner determined that she had been bludgeoned to death, turning Peterson into a murder suspect.

Netflix will buy the rights to produce two sequels to Knives Out with director Rian Johnson and star Daniel Craig set to return to the franchise. An individual tells TheWrap the deal for the second and third films is worth more than $400 million, while another individual says reported figures are inaccurate.

Britney Spears has broken her silence on the Framing Britney Spears documentary. In an Instagram post that features her dancing to Aerosmith’s Crazy, Spears addressed the doc for the first time, writing that she hasn’t watched it but was “embarrassed” by the parts she did see and “cried for two weeks.”

A24 has released the official trailer for Zola, which will release theatrically on June 30. Based on the infamous Twitter thread posted by A’Ziah Wells King, the film follows a Detroit waitress named Zola (Taylour Paige) who strikes up a new friendship with a customer, Stefani (Riley Keough), who convinces her to join a weekend of dancing and partying in Florida. What at first seems like a glamorous trip full of “hoeism” rapidly transforms into a 48-hour journey involving a nameless pimp, an idiot boyfriend, some Tampa gangsters and other unexpected adventures.

The release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been delayed one week from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24. The sequel, which stars Tom Hardy, was most recently pushed to September from June 25 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The one-week delay of Venom 2 means that the movie will no longer premiere on the same day as murder mystery Death of the Nile and the animated children’s film The Boss Baby: Family Business.

Netflix may be breathing new life into the To All the Boys film franchise, with a spinoff TV series in early development starring Anna Cathcart. A half hour romantic comedy series from Awesomeness Productions and Ace Entertainment is being eyed at the streamer.

Young Sheldon has been renewed for three more seasons at CBS. That means the Big Bang Theory prequel series will be on the air until at least 2024. The series debuted in 2017, with its fourth season currently airing. Season 5 will debut during the 2021-2022 broadcast television season.

Coming 2 America, the long awaited sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 Coming to America, was the most-streamed title in the U.S. the week of its premiere, according to new Nielsen data.
