The Little Things
Deputy Sheriff Joe "Deke" Deacon (Denzel
Washington) joins forces with Sgt. Jim Baxter (Rami
Malek) to search for a serial killer who's
terrorizing Los Angeles. As they track the culprit,
Baxter is unaware that the investigation is dredging up
echoes of Deke's past, uncovering disturbing secrets
that could threaten more than his case. Jared
Leto takes a chilling performance to a new level in
this throwback to thrillers from yesteryear.

We Can Be Heroes (Netflix)
When alien invaders kidnap Earth's superheroes, their
children must team up and learn to work together if they
want to save their parents and the world. An all star
studded cast compliments several new faces in this
delightful family focused action romp. Robert
Rodriguez has dabbled in this space before with the
popular series Spy Kids, and the slight
nod of a prequel to this movie, Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
Perfect for kids young and old alike while the
characters learn to work together and teach themselves
and the audience a subtle lesson.

Let Him Go
Following the loss of their son, a retired sheriff (Kevin
Costner) and his wife (Diane Lane)
leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson
from the clutches of a dangerous family living off the
grid in the Dakotas. Written and directed by Thomas
Bezucha, it's based on the 2013 novel of the same
name by Larry Watson. Both Costner and
Lane put in heartfelt performances that highlight their
acting chops.

Josh Duhamel better get his tux ready! Lionsgate has
announced that the actor is officially confirmed to star opposite Jennifer
Lopez in the action comedy Shotgun Wedding. Sonia
Braga and Jennifer Coolidge are also joining the cast as Lopez
and Duhamel’s mothers, respectively. The film is set to begin production in the
Dominican Republic later this month.
Paige VanZant insists she’s not afraid of fists. Ahead of her
bareknuckle boxing debut against Britain Hart on Friday, the
former UFC strawweight fighter and Sports Illustrated
swimsuit model said getting cracked in the head is the lesser of evils when
battling an opponent. “I would much rather be cut open than break my arm or
break my knuckle or tear my shoulder or tear my knee,” VanZant says.
Hal Holbrook, the craftsman who reincarnated Mark Twain
on stage and screen for more than six decades and also stood out as Abraham
Lincoln and Deep Throat, two other American legends, died
on Jan. 23. He was 95.
Dustin Diamond, who gained youthful fame as the nerdy Samuel
“Screech” Powers on TV’s Saved by the Bell, died
today in a Florida hospital, just weeks after revealing he was battling stage 4
cancer. He was 44.
Neve Campbell has signed on for a leading role in The
Lincoln Lawyer series that was recently announced at Netflix.
She joins previously announced series Manuel Garcia-Rulfo,
who will star as Mickey Haller, runs his law practice out of the back seat of
his Lincoln Town Car.
Tony Bennett and his family have revealed that he has been
battling Alzheimer’s disease. The 94 year old iconic singer was diagnosed in
2016, according to a feature in AARP magazine.
Chadwick Boseman has received a posthumous nomination for the 2021
Golden Globes. Taraji P. Henson confirmed that the actor,
who passed away in August 2020, received a well deserved nod in the Best
Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama category for his role as
the boisterous Levee in the 2020 Netflix original film, Ma Rainey's Black
Bottom.

Disney has signed Black Panther director Ryan
Coogler to a five year overall TV deal. Among the projects in the works is a
spinoff of his Marvel Studios film for Disney+ that will
center on the Kingdom of Wakanda.
Barstool Sports, the rowdy sports-information empire with a knack
for smack talk, is getting into longer form programming. The company intends to
launch Coach Prime, a documentary series that will follow Deion
Sanders in his first season as head coach of the Jackson State Tigers,
while calling attention to Historically Black College and Universities.
General Motors is readying a big Super Bowl ad to
press American car consumers to make a big shift. The giant automaker will
launch a new campaign highlighting its efforts to scale up electric vehicles
during CBS’ Super Bowl broadcast with a 60 second spot that taps Will
Ferrell, Kenan Thompson and Awkwafina.
Mike Myers and Dana Carvey have reprised their
Wayne’s World characters for a new Super Bowl ad. Wayne
Campbell and Garth Algar will promote Uber Eats during the big
game on Sunday.
