At The Movies

Minari
A Korean American family moves to an Arkansas farm in search of its own American dream. Amidst the challenges of this new life in the strange and rugged Ozarks, they discover the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home. Writer director Lee Isaac Chung's excellent drama is semi autobiographical as Chung also grew up on his father's farm in Arkansas. Chung's recollection of his own childhood might be what gives Minari its dreamlike calmness and flow.
