Minari
A Korean American family moves to an Arkansas farm in
search of its own American dream. Amidst the challenges
of this new life in the strange and rugged Ozarks, they
discover the undeniable resilience of family and what
really makes a home. Writer director Lee Isaac
Chung's excellent drama is semi autobiographical
as Chung also grew up on his father's farm in Arkansas.
Chung's recollection of his own childhood might be what
gives Minari its dreamlike calmness and flow.

Greenland (Amazon Prime)
John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his
estranged wife (Morena Baccarin) and their
young son embark on a perilous journey to find sanctuary
as a planet killing comet hurtles toward Earth. Amid
terrifying accounts of cities getting levelled, the
Garrity's experience the best and worst in humanity. As
the countdown to the global apocalypse approaches zero,
their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last
minute flight to a possible safe haven. Prolific stunt
actor-turned-director Ric Roman Waugh
(Felon, Snitch) reunites with his Angel
Has Fallen star Gerard Butler in
Greenland, an unequivocally bleak and hugely watchable
disaster movie with a sci-fi edge.

Monster Zone
A maverick 15 year old high school student, Danny, is
transferred to a secret boarding school where he opens a
portal of monsters from the fifth dimension. To save the
school from havoc of the monsters, he must work with his
more successful rival, Liz, and their moth human hybrid
professor. Jamie Bell, and Australian
actress, Ruby Rose lead the film's voice
cast. Cranston Academy, Monster Zone (formerly Scary
Show) is a Mexican British Canadian animated horror
comedy film directed by Leopoldo Aguilar.

Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun are reportedly dating,
after “growing closer” when they worked together. A source quotes “Working
together has brought them closer and Avril has a history of falling for people
that she works with. She falls in love with them for their musical creativity
and expression,” a source told the outlet. “Her working relationships often turn
romantic.”
Chair Girl is apparently throwing a hail Mary to extend her 15
minutes of fame. Like a lot of C-list actresses, a coterie of fame seekers, and
some porn stars, Toronto’s own Marcella Zoia, who rose to fame
after heaving a chair 45 storeys onto the Gardiner Expressway, has joined
OnlyFans. The 19 year old appears to have started her own OnlyFans account
in November 2020. She pleaded guilty to mischief causing danger to life and in
July was sentenced to two years probation, a $2,000 fine and 150 hours of
community service.
Actor Armie Hammer’s problems continue to grow amid his sexting
scandal as his agents have reportedly dropped him. The Rebecca star has
been accused of sending leaked cannibalism and rape messages to a series of
women and allegedly talking to them about his odd sex fetishes.
Alec Baldwin’s wife has returned to social media to apologize for
misleading fans with claims she was born in Mallorca, Spain. Hilaria
Baldwin was ridiculed after critics questioned her Spanish heritage based on
the accent she used in a series of online videos, and it emerged she was born in
Boston, Massachusetts.
Salma Hayek had no idea what she was signing up for when she
agreed to star in The Eternals. The Frida star portrays
Ajak, the spiritual leader of the Eternals, in the upcoming Marvel
Cinematic Universe flick, and has revealed she confessed to the team that hired
her that she knew nothing about comic books and the immortal alien race who
secretly live on Earth.
Mahershala Ali’s turn as Blade is one step closer to the
big screen. Watchmen writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour has
been tapped to write the upcoming Marvel Studios film, Variety has
confirmed. Marvel Studios announced that Ali, a two time Oscar winner,
would portray the vampire hunter at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019.
Syfy female-driven supernatural western Wynonna Earp is
officially concluding its run after the end of its current and fourth season.
The remaining six episodes will air starting on March 5 and will end with the
fourth season finale on April 9.
Yellowstone’s origin story is soon to be told. ViacomCBS and
MTV Entertainment Group announced Friday that not only had
they extended their deal with the series’ creator, Taylor Sheridan,
they’ve set in motion a prequel series, to stream on Paramount+ in 2021.
