Hip-Hop Uncovered (Hulu)
The streets of America helped shape hip-hop culture, and
this docuseries, streaming as of February 13, examines
the evolution of hip-hop music and the country’s
fascination with crime and street culture. Hip-hop’s
early beginnings were rooted in a way to express
defiance. But today, the musical genre has become one of
the most influential and impactful of this generation.
The FX series is delivered in six parts and includes
interviews with everyone from James “Bimmy”
Antney, a former gang member, Jacques “Haitian
Jack” Agnant, who has been suspected to
have been involved in Tupac Shakur’s
assassination, an allegation he denies, Goon
Sqwad rapper Trick Trick, and Big
U, a former gang leader who now runs an
organization that helps keep kids in Los Angeles off the
streets.
