At The Movies

No Time To Die
James Bond ( Daniel Craig) is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica after leaving active service. However, his peace is short lived as his old CIA friend, Felix Leiter, shows up and asks for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist (Rami Melek) turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond on the trail of a mysterious villain who's armed with a dangerous new technology. The movie has all of the classic ingredients of a James Bond movie: great action, beautiful cars, mystery, romance... but even if the story runs on the same principles: hero vs villain, the background evolves. The characters are surprisingly more gender balanced, with strong female representatives. Bond himself has evolved a lot during the past movies, but this one delivers the best performance.

The Movies That Made Us (Netflix)
Created by the same passionate team that produced the three-season documentary series The Toys That Made Us for Netflix, The Movies That Made Us has quickly become one of the best-rated documentary projects on the streaming service. The show uses a combination of informative interviews, humorous narration, and comedic editing to pull back the curtain on some of the most cherished films to come from the 1980s and 1990s. Netflix's new trailer for The Movies That Made Us season 3 reveals the eight new titles under investigation, many of which are staples of the horror genre. This includes A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Halloween, three slashers that introduced some of Hollywood's biggest bogeymen and birthed long-running franchises.

The Starling (Netflix)
After Lilly (Melissa McCarthy) suffers a loss, a combative Starling takes nest beside her quiet home. The feisty bird taunts and attacks the grief-stricken Lilly. On her journey to expel the Starling, she rediscovers her will to live and capacity for love. If you’ve been hurt by loss and have felt the sting of mental health issues, you’ll get this movie’s point. Kevin Klein, Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd play their rolls honestly and convincingly.
