In 1940s New York, down-on-his-luck Stanton Carlisle

swindling the elite and wealthy. Hoping for a big score,
he soon hatches a scheme to con a dangerous tycoon with
help from a mysterious psychiatrist who might be his
most formidable opponent yet. Nightmare Alley featuring
Bradley Cooper and Rooney Mara is
streaming with subscription on HBO MAX,
and streaming with subscription on Hulu.
The Buzz...
After a quiet January that saw one horror sequel and the same holiday releases
putter out over several weeks, the domestic box office finally has a new leader.
Paramount Pictures’ Jackass Forever is projected to
earn $20.7 million in its opening, stunting on the weekend’s other wide release,
Moonfall.
Jennifer Lopez shared she was touched by a fan's heartfelt sign
that she spotted in the crowd while on tour. While the 52 year old superstar
admitted she's never received a marriage proposal at a show, she did recall
being moved by one sign from a fan on her first tour, which she called "very
memorable." She continued, "I remember this woman holding up this sign ‘I've
been waiting 14 years.' She said, ‘I've been waiting for 14 years to tell you
that you helped me be the woman that I am today.'"
The Orphan Black sequel series has officially opened its writers'
room, Anna Fishko coming on to the show as a writer and executive
producer. The idea of an AMC Orphan Black continuation was first reported
in 2019, though at this point very little is still known about the new series.
The wild true story behind the creation of Chippendales is coming to
Hulu, and the project has a killer team on board. The Kumail
Nanjiani led limited series, tentatively titled Immigrant, has
brought Wandavision filmmaker Matt Shakman on board to
direct and executive produce.
Versatile Finnish helmer A.J. Annila is on board to direct the thriller
series with a working title of ID which marks HBO Max’s
first commission of a Finnish premium TV show. Set in the art fraud world, the
six-part series is co-created by seasoned writer Aleksi Bardy and
Mia Ylönen for Finnish production powerhouse Helsinki-Filmi,
a subsidiary of Finland’s Aurora Studios.
Shaun White has announced his official retirement from competitive
snowboarding, with Beijing 2022 marking not only his last time on
the Olympic stage, but also in any official competition.
NBC Sports says 16 million viewers tuned in to watch the 2022
Beijing Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony across multiple
platforms on Friday, a new record-low for the event since NBCUniversal
began broadcasting the Olympics in 1988.
As the first season of the critically maligned Sex and the
City revival, And Just Like That, wraps its
first season on HBO Max, the cast and crew are eagerly awaiting
news on a potential renewal. Both Sarah Jessica Parker and
showrunner Michael Patrick King have expressed interest in
making a second season. But regardless of HBO’s decision, one person who will
not appear in any subsequent Sex and the City content is Kim Cattrall.
Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram over the weekend to wish
Canadian Tire a happy birthday, a greeting that had Reynolds
reminiscing about growing up with the iconic stores and talking about his
father’s handyman skills.
