Top Gun: Maverick
After more than thirty years of service as one of the
Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom
Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope
as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement
in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself
training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a
specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot
has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw
(Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the
son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept
Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”. Facing an
uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past,
Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own
deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the
ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly
it.

The Bobs Burgers Movie
The Belchers try to save the restaurant from closing as
a sinkhole forms in front of it, while the kids try to
solve a mystery that could save their family's
restaurant. This movie is a extended version of the
series we all know and love. It’s pretty hilarious,
charming, and boasts beautiful 2D animation that’s of
cinematic quality. A surefire crowd pleaser for fans of
the series and for new viewers alike.

Operation Mincemeat (Netflix)
Proving that WW2 is still fertile ground for
storytelling, Operation Mincemeat tells the story of two
British intelligence officers who concoct a plan to drop
a corpse with false papers off the coast of Spain to
fool Nazi spies into believing the Allied forces were
planning to attack by way of Greece rather than Sicily.
Colin Firth gives a great lead performance
in a role that plays squarely to his strengths and is
supported by Matthew Macfadyen who is
successfully able to go toe to toe with Firth in the
more dramatic moments. Kelly Macdonald and
Penelope Wilton are also great, bringing
genuine heart and warmth to the proceedings.

In the latest TV ratings, ABC’s Shark Tank closed out its
season with 3.4 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating, dipping in the demo week
to week but tying for the Friday win. Fox’s Friday Night
SmackDown (2 mil/0.4) was steady and shared the demo win.
It looks like Pete Davidson isn’t the only one leaving Saturday
Night Live. Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant,
and Kyle Mooney are all reportedly leaving SNL following the
Season 47 finale, airing Saturday, May 21, on NBC, hosted by Natasha
Lyonne.
Jennifer Lopez says it was “hard” when Hustlers was snubbed
by the Academy Awards. The hitmaker had “very low self esteem”
after the 2019 Lorene Scafaria film, based on a viral New York
Magazine feature about strippers who took advantage of their Wall Street clients
and starred Jennifer, Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart
and Cardi B, failed to be given the recognition she felt it
deserved by the Oscars.
Sasha Banks and Naomi are no longer the WWE Women’s
Tag Team Champions. Veteran announcer Michael Cole revealed on
Friday Night SmackDown that the pair has been suspended
indefinitely after walking out on a live taping of Monday Night
Raw earlier this week. “We will have a future tournament to crown the new
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions,” Cole said during Friday’s broadcast.

Courteney Cox has “struggled to come to terms” with aging. The 57
year old actress, who is best known for playing Monica Geller in Friends,
has confessed to having a “midlife crisis” as she tried to come to terms with
her new reality.
Madonna has been banned from Instagram Live. The pop icon
has become known for sharing risque nude snaps on the social media platform in
recent years but was shocked to receive a notification claiming she had
“violated community guidelines” when attempting to go live to her 18 million
followers.
