Watcher
As a serial killer stalks the city, Julia (Maika
Monroe), a young actress who just moved to town
with her boyfriend, notices a mysterious stranger
watching her from across the street. Watcher is a dark,
smart treasure of a film, with the collaborative energy
of Okuno and Monroe very much at the heart of what makes
it such a compelling viewing experience. Although its
story may lack surprises, Watcher benefits from director
Chloe Okuno's chilling grip on the
material, and Maika Monroe's terrific work in the
leading role.

Candy (Hulu)
Candy Montgomery (Jessica Biel) is a 1980s
housewife and mother who did everything right - but when
the pressure of conformity builds within her, her
actions scream for just a bit of freedom. Until someone
tells her to shush. With deadly results. Candy is a
sweet and sour treat. While it will work for binge
viewers as well, Candy is best consumed a day at a time.
It may not raise the bar on the true crime series genre,
but Candy is a solid entry anchored by one of Jessica
Biel's best performances.
